Jedo, the vendetta I refer to is due to your voting from last game, and your perceived bias against UM this game. I still have not dropped my FOS from you. You post responses faster than anyone else, and the constant monitoring of the thread just feels a bit scummy to me.

I'm keeping my vote for UM, and I have a bit of data to support my theory. UM has already been called out for being extremely quiet this game and defending his low post count. His silence screams lurker to me. Also, his dismissive "go ahead and lynch me" seems contrived. I did a quick thread post count for everyone, and he is tied for lowest posts (with Lifeinmomland, who I'm also watching) and was the last player to get to 5 posts.

I don't find Jedo to be antagonistic. Rather he, like myself, is not very easily swayed. I respect a difference of opinion and dont view it as scummy or suspicious.

What I do find suspicious is Sentran. He has jumped around all day and been quick to defend me recently. I dont know its just seems to fake.

Unvote, Vote: Sentran

Says the guy who responded within 45 minutes. What kind of reasoning is that? The time period of my most activity is between 10:45a and 2:30p CT. If you post something around six, I'm not likely to even see it until the next day. I don't know what this "constant monitoring" is.

Anyway, I haven't seen a bias against Monk. I've addressed him maybe twice, and any policy lynch stuff has been pretty general in its sweep. I've been using last game as evidence, but that's all. In fact, you're the one who got me started on that policy lynch box in the first place.

This smells fishy. I can't really call what's going on an attack, but it's borderline. If we weren't so close to a deadline, I would switch my vote to Sentran. (That would be weird because that would then be twice that Monk and I have been working TOGETHER in terms of our voting.)

That being said, I agree that Sentran has been a bit dodgy. He has been rather erratic in voting, and seemed to push random bandwagons heavy. I felt from the beginning that would be detrimental to the town.

So, random funny aside story while we wait.

I used to use the email address "mail_@chaz_walker.com" (sans _'s), as my main email addy. When I switched to using chaz.name as my primary domain, I started using "email@" instead of just "mail@" and I didn't enter it right on the GL.

So I wasn't getting notifications, and I just assumed they weren't working because FMB said he wasn't being notified either (in reunion mafia.)

Mostly, this post exists for the sole purpose of subscribing to the thread. Revenge most foul!

Morning dawns, and all of you meet for breakfast. All except wordcross, that is; he is lying in a pool of congealed blood. It used to be his blood, but it doesn't seem to belong to him anymore, him being dead and all.

In looking through his things, the group finds the following note.

Quote:

Han Tzu (nicknamed Hot Soup): Message sender
You are Han Tzu, a member of the town. Each night you can PM me with the name of a player and include a message of six words or fewer. If that player is a member of the town, he will get the message intact. If he is not a member of the town, he will know that you sent him a message but will not be able to break the code. I will not confirm or deny anything you put in the message. I will only contact the person you sent it to and say one of these two things: wordcross has sent you a message: "<Contents of the message>" or wordcross has sent you a message but you are unable to decode it. After that will be my confirmation that the message really did come from you.

If you're wondering at the rationale for this role, I don't recall in which book it happens, but it is in one of the earlier 'Shadow' books. Han Tzu manages to get a message to Bean and Petra (past the censors) that includes the signature (this is from memory) "definitely not vichyssoise," from which they correctly infer that the message is from Hot Soup.

No surprises, but I'm sure at least one of the people who switched to Sentran is scum. I'll wade through that later. For now, I am somewhat suspicious of Ctorj. It's just a feeling I have right now, but I'll go back and look at his posts later (especially when more have been posted).

Well crap. That's almost a mason building role isn't it?

I need to read through the thread, filter by user, and see who switched to Sentran. More importantly, see who didn't bother to vote.

Oh, did I mention the filter? The filter is fixed now, so it can show posts when a user has more than one page of filtered results. Sorry it took so long, but I wasn't sure how useful it would be to post about the filter until there was a need for the filter in one of the games. There isn't quite a need for the filter in this game just yet, but there you go. Ecstatic Happiness

I modified the description of the rules slightly. I don't consider this to be a change, because it is what I had always considered the rules to be. It is just a clarification.

Quote:

* At a deadline, whoever has the most votes will be lynched. If two tie, then whoever has had that number (or more) for longer will be lynched. However, it requires a minimum of 2 votes to lynch someone; if no one has more than one vote at the deadline, the result will be "no lynch."
* "No Lynch" is a valid vote. If that reaches a majority (or wins a tie-breaker as above) then there will be no lynch. Note that this is different from simply not voting, it must be an active vote.

According to the last vote count posted above, everyone voted for someone. I went through the thread, but will do another reread tonight as nothing particular scummy about Sentran stuck out at me. Of course, it's been a few years so I am still rusty at this.

Following the line of thought that the scum were the ones that switched, that leaves lifeinmomland who hammered, MNOWAX, Sniklac, myself, Jedo, and Undercover Monk (according to the thread review at the bottom of this page). That means we went from having next to nobody on Sentran to lynching Sentran starting from post 75 (and the vote count in 87 verifies this). If we continue with the "scum must be someone that switched" route... well, as there were ten players and we needed six to lynch, I don't think it's likely that the scum could have kept completely out of that lynch since only Undercover Monk and Sentran had more than one vote on him at lynch.

So, do I think that the conclusion that someone on the Sentran Wagon was a mobster was correct? Yes. Do I think it would have wound up being a deliberate bus? Probably not. Do I think it is possible that no scum could have voted for Sentran? Possible, but unlikely.

As for who may or may not be scum:

Undercover Monk: Started the wagon, but Sentran was already voting for him. Somewhat OMGUS-y, but his official reasoning (Sentran was jumpier than James Geathers) is sound. Not really setting off any alarm bells there (86). He invites me to join the bandwagon of two on Sentran (93),

Chaz: Saw no reason to change his vote (88). Did not join the Sentran wagon. Snik, what "unusual behavior"?

Jedo the Jedi: Would have switched his vote to Sentran if we weren't so close to deadline (89), but then decides to switch from Snik to Sentran (91), saying he'll switch back if it doesn't look like we'll hit lynch

Myself: Switched from Snik to Sentran (94).

Sniklac: Switched from UM to Sentran (95).

MNOWAX: Switched from Lifeinmomland to Ctorj (81), then from Ctorj to Sentran (96).

Lifeinmomland: Switched from MNOWAX to Sentran, hammering him (97).

It cracks me up two times in a row I lead the lynch of a scum on day 1 and somehow that puts me on the suspect list. Jedos switch is the only 1 i find mildly suspicious but it was day 1 people. you dont have to have a good reason to lynch someone on day 1. And mafia never bus themselves on day 1 unless they have to. the hammer could have been scum but i need to go back and look at day 1

Actually, the qualifier was that someone that switched their vote to Sentran was scum (which I agree with). If you didn't notice, I pointed out that your vote was a counter-vote and that the actual reasoning you gave was sound enough to not set off any alarm bells in my head.

As for a Day 1 Bus, scum lynched scum. Whether intentional or not, Sentran got thrown under the bus.

yes scum lynch scum they just dont lead the way on day 1. Thats stupid like survivors throwing a challenge just to try and get rid of someone they dont like.

both mafia and survivor are numbers games. You dont let yourself lose allies IF YOU CAN HELP IT. (which granted is a big if)
