Pandora Tomorrow sounds good - I'll have to check it out
I beat Safecracker last night - definitely worth the 20 bucks or so that I paid for it, even if a bit short and a tad easy.
I have been playing WoW for a few years now, and I'm intrigued by this new game Rift. Has anyone played it? I'm curious to know if its worth checking out...

BTW, was it safecracker 1 or 2? I'm betting 2 because it's significantly more polished, the first one is probably pretty rare (and extremely buggy). _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. And quick! |

There's a demo which contains two missions, including the one on the train. There are spoilers though. _________________ I tried apt-get install lifebut it only returned E: Couldn't find package life |

Beyond Good and Evil
Second time. It's still the best game I've ever played. This time, I'm determined to get all the animals and pearls. One animal left, and it's not marked on the map. I think it's the spectres (the first enemy fought in the game), which I've killed all of. _________________ I tried apt-get install lifebut it only returned E: Couldn't find package life |

I just went out and bought myself a wii, and along with it picked up zelda twilight princess...Now i knw this game is a bit old but i started to play it back when it first came out for gamecube but never finished it....Personally i dont think its one of the best zelda games but overall its a pretty good game. i love how the character changes from human to werewolf and each temple has so far been pretty challenging. i still havent finished the game, infact have only just beaten the waterbed temple, but im sure the remainder of the game will be just as good _________________ What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. |

I'm pretty sure I played BG&E on a Vista machine.
I second Poisonium though. It's not the "best" game I've ever played but it would be very strongly in contention. I think I've played it through three times (and I did eventually manage to photo all the creatures) which is twice more than a lot of "story-line" games. _________________

I'm playing Beyond Good and Evil on Windows 7. I've also played it on Vista. It lags in places, and there are artifacts in places (and this is only after messing a bit with the graphics options). But you should be able to get it working. _________________ I tried apt-get install lifebut it only returned E: Couldn't find package life |

I ve also been picking my way through this game. Its not as good as some of the other Zelda's but, as noted, its enjoyable. It is long though. (I finished the waterbed temple a while ago, and still am mid-plot, many temples later (currently I am in the sky temple). |

I keep meaning to go back and finish that. I've had it since the day the Wii launched. I just.. don't use that system anymore. :\
(Then again, recently I haven't used any of my consoles. I tend to cycle around a bit. Handhelds, consoles, PC, etc.) _________________ * These senseless ramblings brought to you by Insanity™. If you just can't figure the dang thing out, it must be Insanity™.

I believe the HD-version (which is the one also on pc) was released for XBOX 360 a short ago as a downloadable. _________________ I tried apt-get install lifebut it only returned E: Couldn't find package life |

Really DM? I actually noted a couple of days ago that I still use my Wii, over two years after purchasing it. Probably helps that I don't game "seriously" on the Wii, so I don't really get tired of the games I do play (for instance, I gave up partway through Zelda Twilight Princess, there wasn't anything wrong with the game, it just wasn't compelling enough and it started feeling more like a chore). _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. Well, the Wii sees less use than any of my other consoles right now. That doesn't mean I don't like it, or don't have things I want to play on it (still need to finish Super Paper Mario, Zelda: Twilight Princess, and haven't even started Metroid Prime 3 yet). I just haven't felt like playing them recently. Like I said, I cycle around with what interests me at the moment. The Wii does have a lot going for it, mostly first party stuff, but still. I just haven't felt like tossing any of those titles in.
And still, I love the Virtual Console. But I'm a sucker for retro gaming (becuase that was my childhood, after all). _________________ * These senseless ramblings brought to you by Insanity™. If you just can't figure the dang thing out, it must be Insanity™.

I found out my netbook can run Hitman 2 flawlessly. Now I have something very interesting to do during class. The game is nefariously difficult to get the best rank in, by the way. Age of Mythology was always one of my favorite RTS games
I've been pretty lucky lately with video games - I've had three that I got hooked on, right in a row.
Fable 3 - IMO, better than Fable 2 - I was really hooked on this until I beat it.
Arkham Asylum - I know its old, but I finally played it, and loved it. Beat it on Hard, and wish there was still more to do besides the challenges (I'm still doing them...)
Portal 2 - Awesome! I finished this game in two days (the second day was this past Sunday, and I played it for about 10 hours until I was done...) _________________ When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead

I feel slightly ashamed to admit this but: Lego Pirates of the Caribbean
Travellers Tales (the developers) need to be acknowledged for the sheer brilliance with which they have come up with a format that doesn't require cutting edge photorealism or physics engines and repeats the same basic structure each time, and yet is still compulsively playable and amusing. (And, crucially, remains so on the second time through, and in a game that is cleverly designed to be played through at least twice, this is important.)
Sure it's not especially difficult - but personally I quite like that in a game. There are certain issues with the "puzzle solving" which require the player to be psychic at times but they are few and far between. But in general the levels are well constructured, with a range of different tricks needed at different times, and the little details in the animation are as wonderful as ever (in this game, Jack Sparrow walks with the proper weird wobbly strut.)
Definitely not a game for the hardcore, but it'll do me just fine. (And, huzzah, they've just announced the Lego Harry Potter sequel.) _________________

Yea, the Lego games have been amazing. A few weak points here and there (Lego Indiana Jones 2), but overall one of the best serieses money can buy. Especially if you have kids, they are some of the best children-friendly titles out there.
Though, as more of a hard-core gamer myself, I think I'm going to wait until they go on sale before buying them anymore. It's just too fast to do everything in them. Still a very enjoyable romp.. but too short of one. _________________ * These senseless ramblings brought to you by Insanity™. If you just can't figure the dang thing out, it must be Insanity™.

I picked up Alice: Madness Returns on release day last week. I was a HUGE fan of American McGee's Alice when it came out, and so far I like the sequel. Not love, like. There are a few things I wish they would have improved upon, but overall it still has the look and feel of a good Alice game. _________________ Sentran

Continuing my trawl through older games that I didn't give enough time to originally, I am currently rather enjoying Evil Genius (Vivendi 2004)
Like Dungeon Master, the concept is pure magic - instead of playing James Bond, why not play Ernst Stavro Blofeld instead, and build a secret underground base from which to launch your plans to dominate the world?
It suffers from the usual problems of "Sim" games in that the micromanagement becomes annoyingly tedious, but set against that are a lot of very clever and subtle mechanics which mean that things which look trivial turn out to be significant (e.g. if you play the early game by instantly killing all the amateur enemy agents who turn up to investigate you, then the professionals turn up much sooner and are more aggressive.)
It has a particularly fine balance of freedom versus restriction - at the outset it looks as though you have more than enough space for your base, but you soon realise that this isn't the case, and although there is a semi-exploit in the early game that can be used to alleviate money problems, time is still the major factor.
Much better than I remember it - perhaps because this genre has been ill-served in recent years as these sort of games aren't ideal console material, and perhaps also because the whole tone of the game (in graphics and sound) is so perfectly pitched that you are prepared to forgive the minor niggles. _________________
