This is a game published by Gamewright, and designed by Ted Cheatham (according to BoardGameGeek). The physical game only has enough components for two players, but due to its "multiplayer solitaire" nature, there's no reason why the game can't be played with four players, as we're about to do here.

Below are four 9x9 boards, each with a hexomino-shaped city tile in the middle:
Code:
1               2               3               4
.........       .........       .........       .........
.........       .........       .........       .........
.........       .........       .........       .........
....C....       ....CC...       ....C....       ....C....
...CC....       ...CC....       ...CCC...       ...CC....
...CCC...       ...CC....       ...CC....       ...CC....
.........       .........       .........       ...C.....
.........       .........       .........       .........
.........       .........       .........       .........

When you join the game by posting /in, indicate your order of preference of these four boards (for example, 1243 means 1 is your favorite, 2 is your next favorite, 4 is your third favorite, and 3 is your least favorite). When four players have joined, players will be assigned boards in reverse order of signing up (so the player who signed up last will get h* favorite board, the player who signed up second-to-last will get h* favorite board among the other three, etc.).

Each player also has an identical set of 21 polyomino-shaped tiles (1 monomino, 1 domino, 2 distinct triominoes, 5 distinct tetrominoes, and 12 distinct pentominoes). Each turn, one of these 21 tiles will be selected at random (without replacement, so once a tile is used, it cannot come up again), and each player must place that tile (rotated or reflected as desired) in a position that shares an edge with at least one other tile. If the tile cannot be placed on a particular player's board, the player is out of the game. Whoever can play the most tiles wins. Ties are broken by whoever has the largest contiguous group of empty spaces (so if one player has empty spaces distributed 6-1-1, and the other has them distributed 5-3, the 6-1-1 wins).

I'm /in. It doesn't matter what my preferred board is, because having signed up first, I'll just get whatever board everyone else doesn't want. Hah.

Uh-oh, looks like there's been a blackout in MatthewV's city. He needs better electric generators.

Maybe it was the southwest corner of a city that's the best part of a city. Crap. I can't remember. /dev/joe, we are now officially bitter rivals.
