Apart from not being able to choose a location outside of the US, there's nothing preventing me from signing up, it seems. Well, apart from having to travel to New York City.

Poisonium, I m sure its in the fine print somewhere that only US residents are eligible. Mostly because of the wording of

FAQ wrote:
I am a Canadian resident. Am I eligible to take the test?

Thank you for your interest in becoming a contestant on America's Favorite Quiz Show®. For all those asking, Canadian residents are indeed eligible to be contestants on Jeopardy! However, in the past year, our legal counsel advised us not to collect information from non-US residents on our registration form until we ensured that we could do so in compliance with applicable Canadian privacy laws.

We are in the process of finding a solution so that all those who are interested and eligible may take the test. We will update this FAQ when the Online Test form is updated to accept registrations from Canadian applicants. We appreciate your patience.

If they are wishwashy on Canadians, I doubt you d actually be eligible. Also, you should come to Boston, rather than NY.

I signed up for it, I'm a US-resident, hopefully that'll be OK. Some shows actually require citizenship.
I was slated to go on the Dutch version of the show, it got canceled between my selection and the taping Dispirited

wouldn't it be awesome if there'd be several GL'ers competing against each other?

I wonder if there is a rule forbidding people who know each other competing against each other. Hmmm....

I see a puzzle setup in the making..
3 equally brilliant puzzlers, who are all capable of figuring out the best possible outcome... etc.

Extreme Delectation

I'd be thrilled if there is just one GL'er on the show. I'd love to see Scurra or one of the other trivia heavyweights kick some ass.

I don't know how many of you have seen the ads about IBM Watson, the IBM research project to create a computer that can play Jeopardy. As an IBM employee, I just got an invitation to a celebration event that includes a live broadcast.

There's no danger of any GLer having to play against me, since I have no interesting stories to tell during the interesting personal story section.

The most recent "interesting story" I remember was a person who as a gag buys armadillo statues/figures for their sibling for presents. Woo family inside joke.
