This is good to see. A few days ago I saw that you were the last person to post in OT, then I clicked on the Miserable thread and the post said, "I'm single again." I had connected these in my mind to you, and was still concerned for you even after I saw my incorrect connection. _________________ Paragon Tally: 18 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

Aw! As half of the first (only?) marriage to meet via the GL I'd probably feel too bad to tell y'all even if we did break up
Mumford & Sons rule, by the way. I don't keep very up-to-date on music, but a friend who loves them also recommended Boy and Bear as something we'd like if we liked the Mumfords. I've enjoyed them a lot so far. I can hear what she meant with regard to the similarity between the two, but I can hear a lot of influence from Aussie rock bands of the '90s and '00s, too. Thumbs up! |

This thread doesn't get posted to enough. Which is a shame, especially considering the quality of the tunes in posts like Deception's. Some great bands listed there. Especially Something Corporate, who I'd never heard of before, but who seem like a really fun band, and who I'll be checking out strongly over the next few days. Nice one Deception!
For my part, here's a couple of great indie tunes from two top Scottish bands, Meursault, and Frightened Rabbit:
What You Don't Have - Meursault
The Modern Leper - Frightened Rabbit
Piece of advice. Turn them up loud
And post more to this thread, dammit! |

"Somebody That I Used To Know" and "Eyes Wide Open" by Gotye.
It's all Courk's fault really. She posted the Star Wars parody of "Somebody," and I just loved the voice so much. It reminds me very much of Sting, so maybe I should just listen to more Sting instead. "Eyes" seemed to have an interesting message though, so that was good too.
I looked up Kimbra's solo work (she's featured on "Somebody"), but she's one of those artists who sucks on her own, imo. I love her voice as accompaniment, but that's as far as it goes. _________________ Paragon Tally: 18 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

How could I have missed out on Lindsey Stirling? Apparently she made her YouTube debut 5 years ago, but I've been living under a rock until now. Very cool stuff! _________________ Paragon Tally: 18 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

I don't necessarily care for this commercial, but I really want to know what the music is from. It reminds me of the Road to Perdition soundtrack, but I'm pretty sure it isn't. _________________ Paragon Tally: 18 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

I've kinda become addicted to Caravan Palace and, well, the electroswing genre in general. It's hard not to feel happy when listening to it.

Yeah. Electronic music and swing. Who knew those two things would go so great together? |

Straight No Chaser's Christmas Albums. If you haven't heard them, you should check out their rendition of 12 Days of Christmas. It's amazing, from arrangement to execution. |

Heard this guy last year on the radio, but there were no decent links I could give you then.
Found a few good links today though.

Wagner's Parsifal. I am on an opera (re)discovery tour, starting with Wagner. After all four operas of Der Ring, der fliegende Hollaender, Lohengrin and die Meistersinger, this is the 8th in a row. _________________ My photography:
