The thread seems to have disappeared, but yes, my brother Kevin passed away a day or two before Christmas.
I read your comments, and thank you all for your kind words.
He and I shared many a laugh about his impertinent comment style in this forum. He could be an ass, but he cared deeply for you all.

Samadhi was, I think, one of the most well-respected members of this community. He will be deeply missed.

I'm sure I can't even begin to imagine the pain you must be feeling, since I haven't had any close familiar die young *knocks wood*, but we appreciate the effort you made to post here after that. Samadhi will be deeply missed here.

Thanks for posting, John. We all care deeply for Kevin too - he was a central figure in our community and I'm sure I'm not the only one who learned an incredible amount from talking to him.

One of my infrequent (these days) visits here brought me to this sad news. I can't say how much I'm sorry for your loss. Sam is, in my mind, the biggest single figure of my experience in the GL. Always articulate, intelligent, sometimes provocative but never inconsiderate. He made things interesting. Everybody should be entitled to his opinions.
The world is poorer without him.

I had lunch with him once. I picked him up a the Portland airport and we shared a couple hours together (with Mackay also). I'll never forget the look, the wry smile, as he bragged that "GFY" was actually his brother, a fact we'd not have known. The smile had to do with the screen name you were using and he enjoyed watching me realize what those letters stood for. Simple memories like that are sometimes the most precious.
