You hear an explosion, and you see that all of the smoke rats are vanishing in puffs of smoke as a shockwave of wind spreads outward from Astra. There are no more Smoke Rats in the castle! You feel tired. You feel enlightened.

I'll be fine with some rest, though." She sits up a little. "But what about you? You didn't exactly make it out of that skirmish unscathed."

Smoke Rats aren't really rats, they're more like... ehh, the closest way to describe them is like this: a Shadow Wolf is the queen bee, and the Smoke Rats are its workers. There's been a number of Shadow Wolves nesting in the castle recently, and every time we think we've gotten rid of them, we get more smoke rats. Though, we don't usually have so many at once... must be an elder Shadow Wolf around here somewhere, or else we've got a pack working in concert." Astra shudders at the idea of a pack of Shadow Wolves cooperating. "Most Shadow Wolves can only support a small number of Smoke Rats at once, but they're also usually solitary creatures."

You dress, somehow having an extra outfit than previously, and follow the signs that read "Dining Hall."

The Dining Hall of the Castle of Vaults is the largest room you have seen yet, and it is clear that this room often feeds more than just the denizens of the castle. The far wall is an open facing towards the city, which appears to be slightly downhill. Off in the far distance, you see mountains.

There are many tables on what appear to be wheels on the floor, and there are many people eating. Three exceptionally large tables hold food for the taking. Off in one part of the hall, you see thirteen people sitting down to breakfast as a group - among them is the unique head of Capricorn. In another part of the hall, a number of people are eating with Queen Astra - though from here, it would appear that rank and nobility has no meaning to the people.

After standing in a line for a little bit, you get food - actual food, not just the food rations that are in your pack. The smell teases your nose as you work your way over to where Astra is seated.

You find a space near Astra, and listen to the conversation for a moment as you begin eating in earnest.

"Milady, whether or not it is destined is irrelevant. These are living, breathing people. Your people, who look to you for protection and would gladly give their lives for the Star Kingdom should it come to that. Surely you owe them more than fate in this matter."
