Meanwhile...another one bites the dust. Zag's puzzle has just been successfully test-solved. There's a little brush up work to be done, but it's very minor. I expect it to be marked fully complete in the very near future.

Elethiomel's puzzle is now fully complete, so he wins the door prize.

The other 3 puzzles are in various stages of completion, but all are being actively worked on.

One note for all puzzle writers - as the goal is to contribute these as main puzzle pages, you should also write up a formal solution to your puzzle. As an example, see something like this one - http://www.greylabyrinth.com/solution/groza06 Please don't submit your official solution until we successfully solve your puzzle, but you may want to write up a draft so you have something ready when needed.

I can give it another shot, if another puzzle maker is still needed. I'll try to steer clear of cryptics this time. (I also don't mind a double-booking, because I only have the outlines of an idea and I'm not confident it will work out.)

I was wondering if we are planning to present these as an actual competition. I'm sure that Zahariel could pull together a few from his Microsoft puzzle hunt team, and I know that others among us have connections to other teams from MIT and other puzzle hunts. While not as extensive as those competitions, it would be a reasonable challenge if we limit the teams to 4 or 5 players on each, and limit the whole competition to, say, 5 hours. As well as being fun to see different teams competing, it might very well pull some new blood into GL.

I am still planning on writing a puzzle. Just need to get into the baby routine, but I'll definitely have it in a couple weeks.

Actually...is there a dearth of a certain kind of puzzle? Like, if all the puzzles submitted so far are word puzzles, I won't do that.

3 out of 5 are at least partially based on cryptics, including 2 crossword puzzles. We haven't solved Jack_Ian's yet, but on the surface it's definitely the most visual puzzle. The rest are all somewhat word-based.

I'm going to do a word based puzzle, albeit one that isn't the same style as what we have so far. (I'm about 60% done with it in my head; I need to just sit down and spend an hour polishing up the details.)

I just completed a substitute puzzle that I'm fairly pleased with, and submitted it for test solving. Thok and 3iff will need to take a look at it; I've posted it as a new thread in our super-secret lair.

I'm pretty busy away from home until next week, but I've got ideas for a word-based but non-cryptic puzzle which I anticipate knocking off well before the end of June.

Just to confirm, I currently have no intention of doing a puzzle...unless I have a brilliant idea for one. There's no way I can get anywhere near the standard I've seen so far.

I am running a new version of Top GL'er. People who are making the collaborative puzzle may enjoy this competition.

I'm not starting it until after July 4th, to allow everyone who are working on both ( or want to work on both) not have to divide their time.
