Recently read Farenheit 451, Bradbury's influence in Orwell really showed. The depiction of an all-controlling government. Just great, great work. Didn't even know he was alive, he'll be missed though.

Victor Spinetti - a UK actor who was never out of work but was never an A-lister. His one-man show (which was basically a bunch of showbiz anecdotes) was one of the funniest nights out I have ever been to, and I still smile thinking about it.

Carroll Shelby, racecar driver and designer, died in May of this year.
