Zag has sent, as has Quailman. I'll extend the deadline til noon tomorrow (GMT -4) since I need to go to bed now anyway.
Hopefully that will help Thok and groza. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

There's no reason not to welcome partial submissions. Even though they will be handicapped in the contest for the overall victory, they can win medals for individual clues.
I'm looking forward to see the submissions, I expect a lot of great clues. |

I very much agree.
We'll award three medals for each individual solution, three for the highest scoring individual clues overall, and three overall medals based on combined score from all clues.
Partial submissions are definitely encouraged if full submissions aren't possible in the time frame. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

I've got a partial list from Thok, who had to head off to work.
I'll be posting what I have at noon. Only 2.5 hours remaining for revisions/submissions. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

If you would like clarification on any clues, please PM me. Most users provided explanations. If they have not, I will PM the original writer for information.
Let's set the deadline for votes to be sent as 11:59pm on 8/6 (GMT -4)
After reviewing the clues, use the template below to rank them. Just copy paste the clue into the Gold, Silver, or Bronze position. You may not include your own submission anywhere in the rankings.
I will then tabulate the scores, awarding 3 points for Gold, 2 for Silver, 1 for Bronze, and 0 for any clues that miss the podium.
We'll award the top three scores for each solution, the top three scoring clues overall, and the top three users in total score.

There are a couple of clues I don't 'get' yet. Perhaps the definitions might be a good idea?
Edit: Actually I'm figuring out gradually. There is one clue with an error that could perhaps be disqualified? I'll PM it later. |

I believe I saw that one...actually I thought I saw two, but it could be that I just am understanding it wrong.
I was weighing the idea of explanations but I think I'd like to keep it as is...ultimately, if you can't work one out, let me know via PM. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature.

Yeah, no need for disqualification. If you think a clue doesn't work, not voting for it is enough.
Bad clues will be BERATED afterwards too, for additional punishment. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature.

Sure...done. I hope I got them all right, not everyone sent me the answer.
As an aside, the inspiration for PHILANDER was Dennis Rodman's father. He has 29 children by 16 women, and his first name is Philander. How's that for a double definition?

Choices sent. Some difficult decisions.
Lots of clues I didn't understand...which ruled them out for a podium place. I would appreciate an explanation for all the clues when the game is over. At least some of the experts here also had problems with some clues so that makes me feel a bit better.

We have a tie for first after 3 rounds of votes in the overall, and a fairly large gap between those two and 3rd place.
No clue has received all 3 gold medals. We do have two clues that have been awarded G-G-S.
We have one solution where 7 different clues have been awarded by the 9 votes submitted. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature.

Ties in the final medal positions will be broken by the number of the more valuable medals.
If two contestants tie in the overall scores, the one who has more gold medals wins. If they have the same number of gold medals, the one with more silver medals wins.
If there is an exact tie, the contestants will fight to the death to decide the winner. Erm, scratch that...I'll just award two medals of the same value in that scenario, unless it's the overall gold medal. We'll need a clear overall winner, so maybe we'll go to a one word sudden-death clue-off. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

I'm not rushing it...I'm just enjoying my handy-dandy scoresheet and posting generic updates. Votes aren't due til the end of Monday. You have plenty of time.
Here's another generic update: 4 votes in - 78% of clues have received at least one vote. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature.

Voting turned out a lot more difficult than I expected. Some really good clues didn't get anything because I could only give three medals and at least one not so good clue got a medal because there wasn't anything better. |

As another option, I'm voting anyway and I didn't end up having time to submit clues of my own. If Zag doesn't think he can get anything in soon, we can count my votes for him, and if I voted for any of his clues (likely) then just have me add another vote for those words.
Provided that's ok with everyone involved, esp. Zag. |

Yes, that works if groza doesn't vote for Zag's. Groza, pehaps you can nominate a 4th place finisher for each clue, and I can move them up as needed. The other option is I can forward you Zag's list, so you remove them from your scoring. Either way, just let me know. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |
