Ah, yeah you were supposed to sort the words by starting letter rather than just anagramming. That's the problem with anagrams, they can lead to unintended shortcuts like that.

I am so impressed that you guys solved that, and I'm equally impressed with the construction of it. Even if the thought occurred to me to build a puzzle around that principle, I'm not sure how I'd go about finding the candidate word list. Plus I wouldn't do it, thinking the concept too unlikely for people to be able to solve.
