What happened to me. I am still trying to sort out some of the pieces...
On Tuesday, July 31 I was as happy as I could be. I had lunch with a professor and was smiling and talkative. In the evening I had a strange experience-- something that I doubt will never make sense.
It started around 4 or 5. I was walking to my house to meet with friends of mine. K and S and their two daughters. When I got to my house, I kicked off my shoe and socks. When they came over, I was happy to experience everything as if I had never done it before. I rode in the back with a dog on my lap.
We got ice cream.
The idea was that time could move forwards and backwards.
I kept mentioning the Phantom Tollbooth.
The rest of the evening is a blur to me. But I ended up being dropped off in the middle of the night at my brothers.
He took me to the hospital.
I have no recollection of what happened until Saturday. I recall the calendar saying 4/5.
Now I was supposed to have an art show for First Friday. Obviously it didn't happen.
I know I wrote on the walls of the hospital with food. And ran around naked. Oh my. Why would I ever do that.
I wonder what happened from Wednesday to Friday….
I got out August 14th. Which means I was in the hospital for two weeks. It felt like four or five days. |

| What did the hospital say? Surely they didn't keep you until you were more lucid and then send you on your way with no explanation... |

| Well, I was given lithium for my bipolar. But they really didn't say too much that I can remember-- protection of patient privacy runs deep these days. |

In most parts of the US, that wouldn't be all that unusual. |

Oh, well, I didn't know you had bipolar disorder. It was a manic episode.
Your records are not hidden from you, you just have to go to the hospital administrator, sign something, and they'll show you your forms. |

Good idea. I think I should get in contact with them.
It was a manic episode. And actually there are starting to be entirely too many comparisons with Jesus. I really hope that I don't end up being the story of some book that people fight over. |
