That was part of my reasoning, but there was another meta reason that I hoped people would consider. Last game, Captin A was tied directly to you. What better way to remove any question of such than to kill off your former partner in the next game? Throw in the out-of-game relationship, and it seemed like a valid reason. Nobody picked up on it, and it would have revealed too much to bring it up myself.
Oh, I kept one immunity idol for myself, since I was not sure if the game would wind down to a faction win or an individual win.

Speaking of which, I still feel it was vaguely unfair that one redirect affected essentially all 3 mafia powers in one night.
