I've just moved and am looking to buy internet; previously the only internet I've purchased has been my portable Verizon wireless card.
The provider that has been recommended seems to have two packages (in reality they may have many more when I call but these are the ones shown on the website for internet only): $50/mo for 15Mb/s or $75/mo for 50Mb/s. First question is, are these reasonable prices? They seem to be about on par with the other providers locally.
Next question is, is the difference noticeable enough to warrant the 50% increase? In addition to the Grey Labyrinth and other puzzling, I primarily use the internet for online gaming, streaming on Hulu, and Skype. The faster package is within my budget, but I don't want to pay more if I don't need the power. |

| 50Mb probably only makes sense if you are sharing the connection with members of your family or if you're watching movies online. |

That pricing is reasonable based on what I have had from two different companies in two different states.
15Mb/s is more than enough. We have 12Mb/s, and I sometimes play online games while my wife streams television. I haven't noticed any problems. _________________ Paragon Tally: 19 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

pretty average, what is the service provider if you don't mind me asking? Sometimes you can have them give you a promotional rate, even if they aren't advertising it. _________________ The Man The Myth The Legend

| The provider is SuddenLink. I'll probably get the 15Mb/s package then. MNO, do you know if there's anywhere in particular I should look for promo offers? |
