(I'm trying to figure out an action where failing would be more beneficial than succeeding, considering how my rolls have gone thus far)
"I... must... not... lose... my... temper."
Action: pause for a moment and inspect the knot in the sheets, so that I can more easily extricate myself from my current predicament. _________________ Sentran

Turn 10 Resolution:
MNO: 5
“Zip, you grab some supplies for yourself while I call HQ for some reinforcements,” commands Jack as he simultaneously begins contact with Command again. “Command, Zip and I are geared up to push back these damn lizards. We need reinforcements here now so we can put a big hole in their progress.”
“Listen, Jack, that’s great about what you got going for yourself, but this isn’t the war anymore and you aren’t in charge. We have our own problems, and we’re doing the best we can to assist people. Right now, we’re trying to keep these beasts from taking over our position, so you just keep your head down and your nose clean.”
“I don’t give a rat’s ass what sort of problems you got. This may not be the war, but I’m still fighting these damn things all the same. If you aren’t going to take advantage of the man you got down here, I’ll march down there and beat your face in.”
“You son of a…look, you’re in luck. There’s a squad marching down the corridor toward your position. You hook up with them and stop bothering me.”
It’s about time. Little piss-ant. “Zip, you about ready?”
Elethiomel: 4-1=3
Dee pulls himself to his feet with only minor winces. He steps carefully around the debris of the kitchen, moves through the apartment, and carefully proceeds into the hallway. Following the sounds of movement and fight preparation, Dee nears the now-closed-but-recently-blown-open corridor of the supply room. Before he can reach Jack and Zip’s location though, he comes across a squad of twenty soldiers fortifying their position against the soon-to-come Princua. Dee skirts around a dead Princua bleeding his orange blood all over the floor, and approaches the commander.
“Civilian, this isn’t a safe place to be. You should make your way to the refuge zone and away from the Princua threat,” chides a young Lieutenant as he sees Dee nearing the group.
“I understand, sir, but I’m actually looking for my bunkmates who came this way. I’m sure you know Jack,” responds Dee in a hurry to justify his presence.
“Actually, I don’t know Jack,” the Lieutenant replies as a few men in need of stress relief snigger. He glares at them and they quiet.
“Well, he’s an old war vet, and I’m sure he came down here to find his precious rail gun. In fact, my reverse clairvoyance confirms that’s what he has done. He’s apparently a good soldier.”
“We’ll see about that. Just hang back for now. In fact, Charlie, see to this man’s wounds.”
novice: 6+1=7
This is quite a rush. I've never experienced anything like this before. This must be how those people on the zombie movies are able to destroy so many zombies so easily. I bet I could take on that whole warship by myself!
Zip rushes toward the weapons section, and starts grabbing armfuls of weapons and shoving them into a pack for easier carrying. When his hand finds a grenade, he decides he should probably see how it works first, just to make sure he knows what he’s doing. He pulls the pin and throws the ‘nade toward the back of the store room. He only realizes his mistake when it becomes too late.
The grenade blows apart the rear of the store room and sends shockwaves of concussive force throughout the shelves. The supplies nearest the explosion are consumed by fire before the fire suppressant systems can activate, and many of the other supplies are destroyed by the rushing energy. Jack being near the door is not very fazed considering his recent hearing loss anyway, and Zip is only knocked off his feet because the adrenaline helps him ignore the assault upon his ears. In the process though, Zip drops the bag of accumulated weapons.
Monk: 3
As the mystery woman removes the last shackle and the gag from Reggie’s mouth, he curls up and begins to hum a song which has comforted him on many lonely nights. Unfortunately, what was meant as a stimulant to the woman falls on ignorant ears. She just rolls her eyes again and goes about fortifying the room some more while shooting side-long glances at Reggie every now and then.
3iff: 4
After a few more breaths, Suzy finally recovers her senses. The blood is still oozing from her gaping forehead wound and she’s starting to feel a little light-headed, but she is alright for now. “Tank, are you alright over there? I could really use some help bandaging this wound. I don’t know how much longer I can let it go.”
Sentran: 5
Tank concentrates really hard on the knots in the sheet, the ones which are keeping him so tangled here in this God-forsaken laundry room. As he does so, Tank enters a strange, trance-like state. The knots suddenly make perfect sense, and he can even “feel” in some way the molecules of the sheet. Reveling in this transcendent state, Tank gives a small mental nudge to the knots, and they unravel before his eyes. He is released from the sheet, and part of it even rips off and binds his hand.
A little weakly, Tank answers Suzy saying, “I’ll be right there.”
Event: Tank has gained intricate knowledge about sheets and has a latent telekinetic connection with them. He has a +1 for all actions involving sheets. _________________ Paragon Tally: 19 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

I've given a lot of thought to it, and I've considered my source material. Here are the two options and their pros and cons:
1) The way it is. Pro: 1s are a thing of the past. Con: There are still two numbers which will cause problems.
2) Reroll on a 1 or 6. Pro: Have a chance to avoid a terrible roll. Con: The second number stays.
Sentran, I'll let you choose which you would prefer. _________________ Paragon Tally: 19 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

“Woooohoooo!” crows Zip as he picks himself off the floor. “That was some explosion. I’m ready to take on those Princua by myself!”
“Well, you just wasted a ‘nade on the supplies, moron,” chides Jack with only slight irritation in his voice. “Grab your stuff and let’s get down the hall to the reinforcements. You might get your wish of meeting the Princua in a few moments. We’ll see how you feel then.”
Zip shuffles a few more undamaged supplies off the shelf into the bag of accumulated weapons, then slings it over his shoulders and follows Jack outside. They run down the hall, being mindful of any Princua who might be coming up the corridor behind them, as they approach the hole Jack previously punched through the blast door. Then they quickly duck through one at a time back into the corridor of their apartment.
“Hey! Get away from there! We can’t be having civilians near a battle zone,” cries the young Lieutenant. Two soldiers rush forward to escort Jack and Zip behind the fortifications to the Lieutenant while two other soldiers run to reinforce the breach.
“Listen, Lieutenant,” Jack starts in, “I was fightin’ wars and battles when you were suckin’ on your momma’s tit, so I ain’t no civilian. I I’ve got my trusty railgun here, and I’m the one done wasted that dead Princua o’er there. Now, you can give me some support while I take care of business, or I’m gonna leave you behind and take these damn lizards myself.”
“Fine,” the Lieutenant replies through gritted teeth, “but we will coordinate our efforts. I don’t want us tripping over each other. Let’s discuss a plan of attack.”
Jack and the Lieutenant go aside to discuss strategy for meeting the Princua in battle, and Zip settles in with the group of soldiers.
Elethiomel: 6-1=5
“Let me have a look at your foot there,” says Charlie as he approaches Dee. While he is putting stitches in Dee’s foot, Dee capitalizes on his diverted attention to swipe a couple of Charlie’s grenades and hide them in his towel. That ought to let me be semi-useful in the coming battle.
“You got quite a scrape here. Looks like your hand has been damaged too. I’ll patch them both up, then you can probably head back along the corridor to the refuge zone.”
Dee thanks the young soldier kindly, and lets the relief of a healed body wash over him.
Dee is no longer affected by his injuries.

Reggie looks around at the room. It’s an efficiency bedroom of sorts with a small fridge and stove on the far side, a small bathroom through a door near him, and a desk which the small woman is attempting to push in front of the door. There isn’t much in the way of weapons or supplies other than the few things in the “kitchen.”
Mustering all of his dignity as a Constable, Reggie stands and goes to help the woman move the desk into a fortifying position. She gives him an appraising look, and nods her head in thanks for his help.

Tank lifts the sheet and tears a thin strip with his mind. He goes to Suzy who is sitting rigidly still for him to work on binding her head. He wraps the sheet around her head and ties it off. It’s not on very tight or straight, but it’s on well-enough to significantly hamper the bleeding. The binding will probably need to be changed soon, but it will do for now.
Suzy takes a few deep breaths to pull her senses back to herself, regain her energy, and consider what they should do next. Tank had mentioned something about sneaking out of here and getting to some better safety. Maybe that’s what they should do. She still isn’t sure exactly how she feels about this new guy, but at least she’ll have somebody by her side if they run across some trouble.
Suzy’s head is bound, and therefore no longer is experiencing significant blood loss. _________________ Paragon Tally: 19 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

I think it would be better if me and Zip over there took a few men, and you take more, and we flank their forces.
I also know there are other survivors around here( i think i heard some idiots banging around in a laundry chute and in the kitchen) We're not going to lat anything happen to the civilians on this vessel, do I make myself clear Lieutenant?

Technically, you don't know Tank except through random interactions you may have experienced aboard the ship. That's why Suzy and Tank had a "meeting scene." Now, I'm willing to believe the two of you have met since you are both former military, so you'll have to provide me with where you think he is. Turn 12 Resolution:
MNO: 2
“I’ll take three of your men with me to go find Tank,” repeats Jack to confirm their course of action, “then our party of five will serve as a flanking maneuver to come around behind the Princua. You guys will hold this position, and we’ll hit them from both sides. Is there anybody working to disable their ship or prevent them from pouring more warriors onto ours?”
“We don’t exactly have a lot of weapon emplacements on this colony ship, so there’s no good way to disable their without somebody boarding their ship and doing it from the inside,” responds the Lieutenant grimly. “Let’s take care of the ones on the ship now, and push back toward the breach. Once we can stabilize our ship, we can talk about sending you over there since I’m sure that’s what you were thinking anyway.”
Jack smiles at the pleasurable thought, then begins jogging down the corridor to the apartments. Three corridors over, he opens the door to what he thinks is Tank’s apartment, but he’s not in there. “Dammit!” he shouts, startling a little the three soldiers with him. Pussies. Tank, where the hell are you?
Elethiomel: 5
“You may not recognize me, but I’m Dee Lucions of Grahn d’Heure, Interstellar Hero and Habitual Savior of the Galaxy. If you could get me some armor, I could probably be of help in the coming battle.”
“We could always use another fighter. We actually lost a guy on the way here to a stray Princua. We’ve got his gear. I’ll bring it to you, just don’t tell anybody you got it from me,” replies Charlie.
A few minutes later, Dee is geared up with all of the latest soldier equipment and ready to do battle with his trusty towel.
The armor has a built-in possibilities engine allowing the wearer to see multiple courses of action. For military actions, Dee may have a re-roll of a 1 or 6.
Novice: 2+1=3
Zip digs through the bag to find some armor. Unfortunately, he focused mostly on weapons back in the supply room. Zip dons the only armor he grabbed: a helmet and some greaves. It’s better than nothing, but boy do I look stupid.
Monk: 3
As Reggie and the girl continue putting things in front of the door and generally fortifying the room, he works up the courage to start a conversation. “So, what brings you aboard the ship?”
“I’m going to help start the colony.”
“What will be your job there?”
“Agriculture.”
Thank my stars, a farm girl. “Did you come alone?”
“We should really make sure this place is secure.”
3iff: 5
Sentran: 5
Tank makes a sash for himself out of a sheet, and he even fashions it to be able to carry some items if they happen to find any. He goes to the door quietly, opens it, and surveys the surroundings.
Tank and Suzy are on the deck below the other party members. Down the hall to the left is a service center for various on-board machines, and to the right is some long-term storage with things for the colony (pre-fab buildings and colony equipment). There is a lift somewhere on this floor, but nowhere in immediate sight.
Suzy grabs a towel as she catches up to Tank at the door. “Which way should we go? We might be able to find a small hand weapon in the service center like a wrench or something, but that won’t do us much good if the Princua are favoring blasters today.” She throws the towel over her shoulder, and hears a clank as something falls out of it behind her.
Suzy picked up one of Dee’s special towels. She isn’t really sure how it works, but it will probably prove more useful than a regular towel. _________________ Paragon Tally: 19 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

"Tank, I've just realised something".
I take my qComp out of my jacket pocket, the one that I only ever seem to use for diary recordings, and could select the lifeform indicator app. With luck, assuming I press the right button, I'll get a localised map of the area and any lifeforms (people or Princua) that are close. Humans appear as a white dot and I know animals appear as green or yellow. I would guess that Princua would be classed as animals by the ship computer (the one that the qComp connects to...). Luckily, it's the model that gets power from the qNet so it's battery-free! It also has rubberised edges so I could drop it without damaging it.
"So, that would be useful, wouldn't it?" |

So, I'm not quite yet making an action...I'm checking with Tank to see what he's doing...
I'll probably be picking up the 'clank' object (which I bet I've broken!) |

innermonologue: Ooooooooh doesnt want to talk could be an interesting backstory and therefore plot relavent. Still I cant stay here and do nothing.
Action: convince mystery girl that we need to find a way to help the others we cant hope to survive without action. (well thought out non-jack-type type of action but action nonetheless.) _________________ The Classic Blunders:
1. never get involved in a land war in Asia
2.Never go in against a Sicilian when DEATH is on the line
3. Never release Peyton Manning |

"The service center looks promising, and hopefully has a map..." Tank then hears Suzy's comment about the computer. "Well now, that's more like it! Let's see the layout of this place so we can, uh..." Tank's voice trails off as he ponders for a moment. "We should be heading the the escape pods. Can you find out how many of those are left?"
No action... yet. _________________ Sentran
