That was WEEKEND, a homophone for WEAKENED.

Not really homophones for me, but close enough to get it.

Sorry, I've been away...now if I can only remember the solution to my own clue.

The only recollection I feel somewhat confident about is that "by the sound of it" isn't a homophone indicator. I believe I was looking for faux homophone indicators at the time.

Actually, it turns out it was a homophone...guess I couldn't find a good faux indicator.

Completely = definition
rejected = homophone fodder
by the sound of it = homophone indicator

I'll start giving away letters in the word soon if the above doesn't get us there.

Is it evanescent? That's not the password, though.

Not sure how the initial letter is clued either, so maybe it's wrong. Edit: I get it now.

Last one was EPICURUS, great = EPIC / sounds like "you're" = UR / with US

Next up:
Beginning exhaustive study of first home. (4)

Added bonus: The solution to this clue is also the name we've chosen for our daughter, our first child, who is due in mid-August...which explains my spotty GL appearances lately.

I was about to berate this clue for using an indirect anagram, with Fixed = Rigged = anagram of Digger = shovel...

Kudos for a creative wordplay indicator.
