Zag, I forgot to send in choices before leaving for the holiday. I was sad, but I think it will end up alright.

Well, so much for that theory. They both score on their opening drives. I didn't realize how decimated both defenses are from injuries. |

No kidding. I hadn't realized that the Packers were out Matthews, Woodson, and Shields. Plus, they don't have Jennings on Offense. If they ever get a healthy team, I think they will be Super Bowl contenders. _________________ Paragon Tally: 19 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

So maybe somebody can tell me which is correct:
- The Packers's defender tackles the Giants's runningback on top of his body, but the runningback isn't down until his left buttock touches the ground which is after the ball crosses the plane.
OR
- Miles Austin is pulled down on top of the tackler, spins around on the tackler's chest, then keeps running for the endzone. He is called down though nothing but his feet ever touched the ground.
Admittedly, the second was a few years ago, so the rules might have changed. However, they are the same situation in which a person was only ever "down" atop another player before continuing onward, yet they had different rulings. I couldn't find anything to corroborate either decision.
referee, this is your chance to set me straight. There are no replacement refs to blame, I am un-knowledgeable, and the Packers will lose this game regardless of that call. _________________ Paragon Tally: 19 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

Any thoughts on the Jim Schwartz challenge flag play? What a crazy rule.
I saw this asked, but I don't think I saw it answered...Can coaches actually use this rule to their advantage?
For instance, let's say there's an interception ruled, but the coach of the intercepting team clearly sees that the ball was trapped off the ground by the intercepting player. (Therefore, the interception would be overturned by replay.) Rather than allowing that to happen, could the coach throw his red flag to take the 15-yard penalty but negate the review, thereby keeping possession for his team?
If so, expect Belichick to do this next week. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

| You don't even have to see that the review will likely go against you. If your team just scored the winning touchdown with no time left on the clock, throw the flag as soon as the touchdown is signaled just in case. |

Yeah, that's even better. Why didn't the NFL think of these scenarios when making up the rule? _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |
