Here's the top three analysis. Teams that we all chose have been removed. I got a little more aggressive this week, and it looks as if Jedo has scaled back a bit. We'll see if it proves fatal for one of us.

Really? I felt I was too aggressive.
I'm just rooting for the Raiders or Cowboys as the Wipeout. I think either is reasonable as far as the teams themselves are concerned, but their opponents are both wimpy. _________________ Paragon Tally: 18 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

I just noticed that every AFC division has a team who is 100% for divisional games. Interesting. _________________ Paragon Tally: 18 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

And my complaint today is that I have to watch the 3-8 Panthers play the 1-10 Chiefs rather than the much more important divisional game between the Packers and Vikings which could seriously affect the Wild Card race.

| And what a stupid touchdown, too. Gee, if you're ahead 10-2 with 3 minutes left, what should you do? Oh, I know, how about a trick play pitchout that is guaranteeed to give the opposition their only touchdown when you screw it up. I was really looking forward to the Rams being the wipeout, and it's ruined by an offensive coach who should be fired. |

The Rams won on a long field goal with 26 seconds left in overtime.
The Ravens have 6 points, The Steelers 3 points, and the Raiders nothing in the second quarter. |

Let's see -- exactly 400 point lead, and only 3 weeks to go. My objective, UMonk, is if we both score, I'm going to score 100 points less than you, and attempt to guarantee that you'll wipe out if I do (by shooting for a subset of your selections).
I will say that I plan to pick the Patriots every week. Otherwise, no promises. |

You are in the place of power, Zag. Our best option would be to do uncommon lists by which you pick people we didn't but which leave us as still likely to win.
I was wondering, what if we had a bonus where we pick who we think will be the Wipeout Team? _________________ Paragon Tally: 18 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

| I am out of the running, but I outscored Zag by 150 points this week. If I were within 400 points with 3 weeks to go, I'd keep doing what I'm doing. Of course, I'm using the same method that has given me two firsts and a second in the last five years. The first several weeks were unkind to me. |

I observed last year that there were too many weeks that everyone wiped out. In that climate, your strategy -- to pick a lot of teams -- works well. Everyone was picking a lot of the middling choices, and mostly people scored only when the wipeout came from the obvious loser teams. I made the observation last year that using a more limited list and almost never wiping out would beat your strategy. Admittedly, I did get lucky in the early weeks, so I don't for a minute think that my strategy has been "proven," but I do think that yours has been disproven somewhat. Outscoring me by 150 means that you have to go pretty deeply into the middling choices -- 8 teams who score 20 or less -- which raises your chance of wiping out significantly. Since I've been getting 300-400 points a week, if you outscore me by 150, you can only afford to wipe out 1 week out of 4. |

More scoring options are possible. I thought of double score for picking only teams that win their games.

I know the lists aren't up yet, but I just had a near panic attack when I saw the Raiders are still at 0. They were on my list before I whittled it down. I'll let Zag do his fancy coding (it's too complicated for me), but I believe this is the breakdown.
Jedo wants as Wipeout: Eagles or Fortyniners (Bills, Cowboys, Raiders, Seahawks, or Vikings secondarily)
Monk wants as Wipeout: Broncos, Buccaneers, Eagles, Falcons, or Redskins (Lions, Steelers, or Titans secondarily)
Zag wants as Wipeout: Bears, Bengals, Browns, Packers, Rams, or Ravens (Bills, Cowboys, Lions, Raiders, Seahawks, Steelers, Vikings, or Titans secondarily)
Zag's only independent pick was the Eagles, so that is who Monk and I both want to be the Wipeout. I think I'm at a distinct disadvantage this week. _________________ Paragon Tally: 18 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting.

The good news for you is the Eagles are terrible and have given up. I'm surprised to see that Zag picked them while in "defend my lead" mode. They're averaging under 19 points per game, and are playing on the road. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

I agree that it gives me a good shot. My only reservation is that Nick Foles is the starter, and he kind of has something to prove. _________________ Paragon Tally: 18 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |
