i definitely saw one a little while back (made by DeathMage i think), wondered how it was done and opened it to see it was just a gray-coloured gif with a transparent part!
But now i can't find it. I tried the "under construction" topic in GLP cause i think it was on a subject a little like that, but it's not there. If anyone sees it or think they can make one could you post here? |

But, you might need to know if you are an even or an odd post.
"Invisible Picture"
[edit] Although I guess you can alter the picture after the fact:
"Invisible Picture 2"
Rough attempt at a universal invisible picture:
"Invisible Picture 5"
[editing: I've been playing with the universal invisible picture. Hopefully the concept will get better.]

Rough attempt at a universal invisible pict:
"Invisible Picture 5"
CrystyB was right about the method. The content in "Invisible Picture" and "Invisible Picture 2" is set to the same color as the background, and the background is set invisible.

I created a few more "universal" invisible pictures (see above). But they don't come out very well (you can see the shapes without highlighting, and the words are hard to read no matter what) and they're a lot of work. My analysis is that you are better off changing the picture based on your post number. One disadvantage is that you could end up with a non-invisible picture if someone before you deletes their post.
But that's really enough time on this project.....
[edit] CrystyB, why did you put this in EI?

i've always thought of this forum as "educational ideas" and second, there's a topic in here that says this forum isn't used enough. How could i resist that? |

BearTalon,
I was curious if a picture could look invisible on both backhround colors ("universally invisible" at least in the context of the GL). Based on the pictures above, I think that the answer is no, although I think that you can get the idea. They might look better with slightly different patterns. It's hard to tell.
Anyway, it was kind of fun to learn how to make them. |

They are invisible to me. Nice job.
I was trying to figure out what you did, and this is what I found. Looks like it will work on IE, but not Netscape. No word on Opera or Mozilla, |

| well maybe not so nice a job. The whole poinf of invisible text in GL is to make it visible through only highliting. Those pics need an address copy-paste and then going back to the page i was viewing... |
