I know it's called the truth drug. Does it really work? How does it affect people? Anyone has any clue what sort of behaviour it causes in people who take it?

the general gist is:

I think there is some overlap with the old practice of using ethyl ether to
aid in obtaining psychodynamic 'catharsis,' which may or may not
relate to actual events in the patients personal history,
and overlap with some aspects of the use of hypnosis for similar purposes.

Easier to dose, perhaps? Probably takes less, and you can't just inject alcohol into the blood stream anyway.

I saw on the news this morning that some guy recently turned himself in to the police after robbing a bank years ago. He did this after seeing the "Passion" movie. I guess religious inspiration (or fear of eternal damnation anyway) brings the truth out too.
