That's probably because most pop-up blockers are ad-ware in disguise. I don't use one and I don't have any problem. Just occasional pop ups from dictionary.com and what not. The hard part is keeping spyware from getting a foot hold.

This site lists most of the culprits. http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/
This software can get rid of a lot of it. Spy Sweeper
I would run the spy sweeper to get rid of some of the more obnoxious spyware quickly and easily. I've found that there is still some it won't catch. Maybe with the subscription ~shrug~
But once you undo the Lion's Share you can use the instructions for manual removal in the doxdesk site to rid yourself of everything else. Well, probably. If that fails I say you take off and nuke the entire computer from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. |

Which ones have you tried?
Do you have a firewall/router?
Are they like Internet Explorer screens or more like message boxes?
What version of Windows do you have?
In general ZoneAlarm is pretty good in stopping all sorts of stuff.

I think you have a hardware problem...no software solution in sight... |

| What are your Active-X security settings set to? Most spyware/adware installs itself through active-x. If you set your settings up defensively it will save you a lot of grief. Assuming you're patching your XP. |

get a firewall if you want. They usually work alright.
