The idea is to celebrate the fact that human-powered flight is impractical. Given the geographic distribution of GLers likely to get involved in such a proposal, the best location is probably in New York, this coming October.

The deadline for applications is July 15th. Express interest, "LMAO"s, and "dude, seriously, get that gas leak in your car checked out"s here.

I'm /in.

Well, what with all the support and volunteers this project has garnered, the only thing left to find is a corporate sponsor.

Now, if only the GL has a plutocrat who could get us a good deal on some high-quality, lightweight, synthetic supplies. Maybe some sort of rigid plastic tubing.

I hear that he's giving the stuff away...

practically giving it away!. Yes, indeed, but this week only. We're blowin' it out! We have more inventory than we need and have to move all of it out to make way for the new production.

Offer void where prohibited and supplies are limited.

I can see why you're the General Sales Manager of the Irrigation/Plumbing/Export Sales Department. Why, I almost have the urge to run out and buy some copper PVC pipe!

Every time I hear that on the commercial I think of the old "Gauntlet" voice over saying sardonically "That was a heroic effort!"
