In a thread recently started here, I complained about the loss of a series of dreams which was highly interesting, and even somewhat thought-provoking. My subconscious has apparently decided to be nice, and last night I dreamed the first two parts of something that would probably pan out to be quite interesting, if I can keep dreaming about it. It's something like this:
I suddenly find myself in a room, filled with humans. I notice they're arranged in a squad-like hierarchy, with one commander giving the orders, though they're all civilians, as far as I can tell. Someone takes the time to brief me, explaining the situation at brief. We're located in a building composed of two rooms connected by a long corridor. This room is the humans room, and on the other end is the aliens room. The aliens apparently trapped all the humans here (though for some reason finding yourself in the room equals to escaping something else the aliens do to humans... probably more on that, it was just a feeling in the dream and not really explained. I couldn't remember how I got there), and humans stand no chance in physical combat against the aliens. Actually, the only way they found to stop the aliens from killing everyone is a CD, which contains a series of noises made by a computer, that for some reason kills the aliens (not really explained, though I guessed why when I saw the aliens). I, in the dream, found it suspicious at that point, that they would have time to find this sequence of sounds before getting slaughtered, but said nothing. Then I evaluate the situations and realise it's pretty clever -- the extension cord for the sound system is not long enough to drag it to the alien room, so the two forces are practically stalemated. Then the commander shows me something else they found, a secret tunnel connecting the two rooms together -- apparently the aliens came through it before, and were fended off using the music weapon thingie. Now there are 2 scouts in the tunnel at all times, to warn again another alien attack in time (for some reason it takes time to scramble the sound system together). The first dream ended with me thinking how cleverly this is designed, and wondering what else there is to it.
The second one starts with an alert -- more humans have appeared in the corridor, and the aliens are rushing out to attack them before they can find our room and hide there behind the sound thingie. This is the first time I actually see the aliens -- they're completely white, red eyes, mouths shaped like triangles pointing down, and they fly. Sort of like big white bats (yes, the visuals of my dreams aren't impressive). At this point it makes more sense to me why the sounds kill them (messes up their sonar somehow?), but it makes little difference as they start slaughtering the newly-arrived humans (who, to the best of my knowledge, just appeared there, though dream-me thinks "they got here same way I did"). The commander dude starts shouting for them to get in the room, get in the room, the sound system can't reach this far, but they're too confused, and of the entire group (around a dozen people) only 2 get close enough to our door to be dragged in, then he closes the door and leaves the rest to die in the battle (which I don't really see, so I'm not sure how bat-alien-guys kill people). His #2 also dies in the battle, and obviously I'm the perfect candidate for that. Promoted to #2-guy-probably-to-be-commander-when-commander-guy-dies-a-couple-of-dreams-later, I start investigating the room (which is more like a cavern, really), and arrive at the following conclusions:
1) The aliens designed this situation, and are enjoying it. It's not coincidental we can't destroy them, but can fend them off. It's a game, or some sort of sport.
2) There are other rooms like this. It's not clear whether or not they're connected, but other races are also locked in deathmatch with these aliens. Also, not clear if those are other races or other groups of humans.
3) I reach the conclusion there are more hidden tunnels, and speculate there might be more than 2 rooms. Then I gather people because I want them to start searching for them, so our position will be more defensible and/or we'll be able to win, and that's where the second chapter ends.
I'll update this if/when I dream more chapters. So far I'm quite happy, I thought they're gone forever, and they were some of my best dreams.

And of course, "whine and thou shalt receive":
This is a sort of prequel. I am in a military school, located in an army base. Much like a First-Person Shooter, there are weapons scattered all around. The base has various sections, and is quite large. Some areas in it are completely dominated by trees, while others are more industrialised, with concrete floors and tall buildings. The dream begins with me being late for a class of some sort, though it offers no reason for being late, except for stupidity (since I do say goodbye to my classmates, and watch them go to class, then go to sleep though I should go to the same class). I wake up all alone and late, and start running from my room (which is a wooden shack in the middle of one of the forest areas). On the way I stop and pick a couple of pistols, and start running with them. For some reason, I have a overhead map, again like an FPS. However, I can't find the area I need to find on the map, and instead just start running semi at random, trying to figure out which direction I'm supposed to proceed in. Someone gives me directions, but I noticed he's wrong, because the sun is setting and thus the direction he pointed to can't be south. I take off on a 45 degree angle (for some reason I remember a bunch of geometrical facts about this dream), going Southwest to "cover more ground" (made sense in the dream). I start noticing all sorts of powerups on the floor, and start arming myself to the teeth with some advanced weaponry. The feeling of danger is present at all times, though the places I run through are mostly deserted. Finally I can see my area on the map (the area is names same as my army base in real life, btw) (the map was zoomed in, so I couldn't see it all at once, but now I got close enough), and dash towards there. Only when I reach the top of the stairs, the feeling that something is very strong dominates, and I advance in a series of unpredictable jumps and crouch for no reason. 3 commanders are wathcing me do this, and comment something which I can't remember. Eventually I reach the classroom, to find out everybody's dead, and the school is on fire. For some reason I think "so this is how it happens" and immediately start running west, leaving the school behind and entering one of the forest areas. I consider taking more weapons, but decide I have enough. The 3 commanders are gone when I return from the school, by the way. I continue running through the forest, trying to reach some sort of goal that is hazy to me even in the dream. But I do know I'll need guns, and plenty of them. Finally I reach an area in the forest that seems to be wrong somehow, if only for the fact it's not on the map. I start thinking "hey, I didn't know we have THOSE here..." when I wake up. Don't ask me why it's connected to the other two dreams, it just is (the explanation probably has to do with the details I've forgotten)

HtF, I dream often enough, but not everything is connected to the current running series.
TK, that's nothing. The last series was seriously good enough to be filmed, if I could somehow get it done. It was actually artistic, not to mention full of really cool plot twists.

| You make me jealous. I remember my dreams about four or five times a month. And they're usually just weird with nothing as cool as aliens at a military base. |

Get more mental disorders, then. You're obviously too normal to get cool dreams like us hip guys.

Not nifty. At all. There's something about those dreams that it physically hurts my eyes and stomach to read them. *shrugs* Sorry. (And also sorry that I don't have nifty dreams of my own to contribute; I think I'd feel a lot better making this post if I had something of my own to put out there. *runs off before beginning with the rantage*) |

In case anyone still cares, another prequel:
I'm in my parents' house in Israel, with my parents and my younger sister. My sister comes running out of the bathroom, saying she saw something there, some sort of flash of light. At this point I go to the bathroom, and indeed feel very strange. I go out again and tell my parents something is wrong there. Then I start thinking back, and remember that my young sister's piano teacher, as well as my older sister, disappeared in mysterious circumstances while in the house. I decide to go look in the bathroom again. It's dark, and when I turn to leave, this square rip in space opens behind me, with cool lightning effects and everything, and the room becomes brightly white. I leap forward and it closes on where I was. I storm out of there, and try to convince my parents there is something supernatural going on in their bathroom. My mom won't believe me, but my dad calls a parapsychologist just to humour me. She dictates him the number (which is funny, seeing as we don't use that system in Israel, plus she's doing it OVER THE PHONE, but that detail had some significance in the dream so I'll mention it). Next thing I know, he's back, with two copies of a book she wrote. I start reading it, but it's all about how to get animals to do stuff, and nothing about haunted portals into other dimensions in parents' bathrooms. I get increasingly frustrated, additionally so when I remember I saw the portal open on our porch once, and that's where I'm sitting reading the book. I start thinking about going in again, when I notice my sister is missing. I freak out, thinking she got sucked in, but then she emerges from her room. She now agrees with my theory, and says none of us are safe while in the house. Then I sorta sit there being terror-stricken for a while, then I woke up (sorry for the lameness of the dream ego. I'll talk to him, or something )
So now I know how I got there, though not sure how it ties to the previous prequel.

Delibratly posting my thoughts after reading the first post only:
1. Write a book
2. wee you anal probed :/
I occasionally have some really cool dreams that I remember. Seems like the sub-conscious is the best storyteller sometimes! I woke up and wrote one down once. I thought it'd make a good children's book, but I never got round to filling it out. Now where did that writing pad go :/
9I wanna be an author, construction stinks). |

Third dream...
returning to the drama of dream 1.
Get yer book wrote man
My dreams (that I remember) are normally self contained, though I have had a few continuation ones over the years. Just goes to show how immaginative the sub-conscious can be ... unless it wasn't a dream........... |
