| Recently when I've coem to the GL I've been logged out. When I click "log in to check private messages," I appear to be automatically signed in, without me having to do any work. |

We were almost two weeks without anyone posting in this "make-work-for-the-admins" forum. Good work, Courk. |

i'd ask for a more useful search function about once a week if i didn't think it would be annoying...just about everything else works well enough. |

| that makes sense. i'm ignorant, though, how hard is it to fix what it's querying? it's a lot to sort through, i'm sure, but what's the major issue? time, memory, something else. i know hy tried to do it a while back...what went wrong with that? |

I don't have access to the tables so I honestly don't know. _________________ And he lived happily ever after. Except for the dieing at the end and the heartbreak in between. |

I don't understand enough to understand the problem, so I'm not sure how to fix it. I've tried the out-of-the-box fix I could find on phpbb.com, it didn't work too well, so now it's in a sort of limbo until I have enough free time again (should be around december ). If anyone knows about SQL in general or phpBB in particular, I'd be happy to collaborate on this. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. i'm no help there, but then i can wait for december.
as a suggestion, seems to me this forum is for users to ask for help or address problems and mostly just admin folks pay attention to it. but if you'd like help, it might be worth asking in "off topic" or some other forum where more folks might see it.
on the plus side, searching usually brings up a few gems...i missed a lot of threads a couple years ago. they're just never the ones i'm looking for |

I'd rather not. Relative paths are generally far better. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. And quick! |

| I type gr in the address bar and then choose the GL site I want. Occasionally I miss and get some Greek site. |

Typing "greylabyrinth" and ctrl+enter works well too, as long as you don't mind actually clicking the link for the forums. _________________ "I have an everyday religion that works for me: love yourself first, and everything else falls into line." --Lucille Ball |
