just thoughts...
Primate says he has investigation ability, supposedly proven by knowing wld is scum / miller. Options: he is either a cop, mafia with wld or scum with an investigation ability. But GC says that he investigated Primate and found him innocent. If GC is truthful, then Primate is innocent (already had a GF). But if GC is lying scum, then we can rule out the mafia with wld option, as 5 scum in a 12 player game is excessive. thus, Primate is either a cop or a scum with an investigation ability. One of GC and Primate is scum, the other is innocent. Primate's claim is infinitely more plausible than GC's claim, the only thing against Primate is that he waited until the end to claim.
btw, the fact that wld is still voting for me proves she is scum. if she was innocent, she would go to night and agree to the mutual kill, because if she was town she would win.
The only possible thing that could go wrong is if Primate is a scum with an investigation ability (how remote is that). Given how much a central character Hurley is to Lost, it seems highly likely that he would be included in the game, and Primate's claim makes so much sense (as opposed to GC's).

Actively against, but looking back you can see it was only when it was obvious that you and MNOWAX were the definitive lynchees for the day.

This is a crazy good question.
In retrospect, I feel the setup was a little unbalanced, and was open to be completely undone by a mass claim. My original setup omitted Sawyer and Sayid, leaving both characters open to be used as fake claims - these roles were originally to be Eko and Ana Lucia respectively.
However, I changed these last-minute, because I wanted the game to be based at the end of the second series. I didn't quite realise the impact this would ultimately have on the game. I figured that scum still had a whole lot to choose from (All the dead characters plus Charlie, Claire, Desmond, Michael etc.) but with the benefit of hindsight, it appears it wasn't that easy.
I was actually concerned that GC would assume that Primate, being the cop, was Ana Lucia, and try claiming Hurley, which would have been a complete mess...
Sorry!
On the other hand, scum had some advantages that never came up. They were untrackable ("They don't leave tracks"), un-SK-able ("The Others' traps are far more sophisticated")... and nobody got mislynched by a paranoid cop report...

You said this. There are only a few roles that the mafia would go flat out to kill, knowing their role. Maybe I was a little biased, being cop, but saying this pretty much put you down as Cop or Doc, seeing as there aren't really any other roles that you'd go flat out to kill in the method you were suggesting.
Also, the mod said this, a while back, which put you down as pretty much certain town.

just after you specifically had done a load of speculation. This heavily implied that the mod thought that you were trying to find mafia. That put you as SK or town, and we pretty much had Pete D down as SK/vig. Just to emphasize the 'mods shouldn't comment on in-game material' point. |
