I posted about it when I came back (though said post was rather pointedly uninformative). There was no drunken fun had per se. Most of the week was actually spent indoors not doing especially much (still a Very Nice change from being stuck in my room here). There was a museum visit* towards the end, there was a watching of A Midsummer Night's Dream (with mudwrestling!), there was an episode one morning where IS had to drag me into the kitchen by the proverbial hair and force me to eat because he was afraid I'd starve to death on him (I'd been refusing food and drink for two days**, IIRC), there was lots of baby-herding, I got needled almost constantly about Antrax, it was firmly established that Everything Wrong In The World Is Entirely My Fault***, and...I forget the rest, I'm sure there was more.

*Yay Dalí museum. It's evidently my civic duty to tell the gold-lamé-spacesuit story whenever Salvador Dalí is the topic of discussion.
**I was reasonably happy for once. I didn't feel any need to eat.
***It involves gnomes. I evidently control them.

Oh, and for the fellow Blighty folk out there, don't mix Cognac with Lucozade, trust me.

Once again, not drunk, but giddy and tired and waiting for a herbal sleeping medication to kick in. I think it's already working, but I don't feel like laying down and closing my eyes. I've been having problems sleeping, but does it make sense to make yourself stay awake when the drug takes effect? I don't think so and I really should just go to bed and forget about it. But then I'd miss all the pithy comments the night owls of North and South America make, and the Europeans should be just coming awake by now so they should keep everything intelligent for the next few hours. That means I'm not needed to be coherent and I can just ramble on and on and on about whatever I want. Does anyone think I'm making an ass of myself? I don't care. Just let me be me. And being me means sleeping. I can't keep my eyes open and I'm nodding off between sentences. Yeah. Goodnight.

I just came to the realization that tomorrow around 11am I have my english oral exams for IB. It's kind of a big deal. THere's not a real way to prepare for them, but I completely forgot. I haven't gotten myself into the "analysis" mindset yet. Ah well. In IB, BS=good score.

Oh, yeah, and because of above, I wish I was drunk. Hence posting in the drunken thread. I'm getting the jitters. Stupid nerves. Stupid ambition making me care about grades. Bah.

I was drinking the cognac in a different glass to the normal one, a large smokey coloured highball glass infact. My wife had got herself a cold bottle of Lucozade from the fridge. On entering the livingroom she saw my glass, took it as empty and poured the Lucozade into it.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I shouted, then pondered on how it might taste........the strong smoothness of the cognac against the sweet fizzyness of the Lucozade.
The rest is history, but I still have some of the sticky orange liquid stained on my computer desk, where it was gagged up.

See, I was tipsy after all. It's actually 3 games/per person, a large 2 topping pizza and a pitcher of beer (to share) for 4 people. And it's 15 dollars a head. All in all a relatively cheap night.

Of course I decided not to go into work today so it will end up costing me quite a bit...
