| For my first two semesters of college, I had a 2.01 GPA, if you added them both together. |

More worthwhile news: God rocks!
I've been praying for things to work out so I could stay in Wollongong ever since my degree died. The semester is over, and there are two weeks of exams left... it was looking like all was going to be lost, because I hadn't found work or accommodation.
So then I get practically offered this FANTASTICALLY AWESOME job at my church, of all places. The situation is that if I apply for this job, I'm pretty much guaranteed to get it. The position is as head of the music ministry, meaning I choose suitable music for the Bible readings corresponding to each service (I think there's 4 or 5 a week), organising bands, training new musicians and finding new songs. The pay is good, and the work is something I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to be doing. I should know by now not to give up hope. It's so great to know I'm being looked after though. And what a GREAT opportunity! Yay for me!!!!! |

As some of you know, I got back from Summer Seminar not too long ago. IM me if you want details. There's a pic in the glpics thread.
But the news is, I'm officially a candidate now. This means what? More paper work, more bubble sheets, more letter writing....*sigh* In 5 years it pays off I guess. |

| Neo, Way to go! If you are fortunate enough to go to the USNA, you'll have opportunities for the rest of your life you can't even imagine. Has nothing to do with patriotism. Has to do with education and discipline. |

Cho U took the lead in the Honinbo Final!
If he wins, that'll be two of the top three titles (Japanese) in the hands of players under 25! |

| And furthermore, he and Yamashita Keigo (who's got the Kisei) are the two leading contenders for challenging for the Meijin! So they might get all three! The new generation is taking control! |

Go.
Japan has seven major titles, three of which, the Kisei, the Meijin, and the Honinbo are clearly the three "top" titles.
Yamashita Keigo and Cho U are I think 24 and 23 years old, very young to be taking major titles, but Yamashita just took the Kisei, and Cho is up 3-2 (in a best of 7) for taking the Honinbo. Furthermore, one of the two will be challenging for the Meijin title later in the year.
It's big news. |

| The Kisei has a first prize of about USD 225,000, the Meijin has a first prize of about USD 200,000, and the Honinbo has a first prize of about USD 175,000. |

Cho Chikun, the most successful Japanese go player, has won the Kisei, Meijin, and Honinbo titles 8, 9, and 12 times, respectively.
He's been having some troubles lately, though - since 1999 he's only won the 2001 Oza (one of the other seven), which still makes him a world class player, but clearly far from the dominating presence he used to be. |

Watch? - No idea.
If you mean more along the lines of looking at them / reviewing, you can visit gobase.org - they've got a pretty big database of games you can view online, or download as .sgf's (standard go format, I presume) if you sign up to do so (free). |
