I know not everyone likes logging in, but would the following feature be easy to add?
I would like to be able to start a reply either directly with post reply or indirectly with quote, and once I realize I'm not logged in, click "Login" and enter my details, then be returned to that posting screen for that thread after a successful login.
It would be very nice if any quoted text was returned to the text box. Even better if I could be in the middle of a post, login and return with all my already-entered typing ready for appendation/submission. |

It's possible, but it would require code changes in sensitive places, ones I'd rather not touch, for future compliance. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. And quick! |

Aren't there similar shiny features in the upgrade? _________________ And he lived happily ever after. Except for the dieing at the end and the heartbreak in between. |

Then yes. Like I said, it's not impossible to implement _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. And quick! |

Nothing is impossible, but when it's out of the box....it's not even difficult. _________________ And he lived happily ever after. Except for the dieing at the end and the heartbreak in between. |

That's not entirely accurate. In fact, it's like saying we can have something here because it exists on UBB. phpBB 3 is one thing, and our phpBB (2.something) are simply two different things. I can't port code from one to the other. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. And quick! |

If it's a new feature out of the box in 3.0, I think that it's pretty likely (I know, I'm going out on a limb ) that we could implement that once we roll over.
By 'out of the box' I mean the basic 3.0. So all of the custom code you and jeep have done doesn't count. That's re-possible, but difficult or cumbersome at best. If it's against a preset feature then that would take effort. But if it's precisely a feature of 3.0, then virtually no effort should be required. _________________ And he lived happily ever after. Yeah, but then we don't really want it either. |

Your "we" and my "we" are not the same "we", oui? Mine's bigger, not wee. Whee! Wii? |

There is a "we" in MatthewV...but just "eat" and "ate" in Beartalon. |
