I tried putting the grid through a caesar shift here http://www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/users/03/julieg/hw14cipher.html but nothing stood out. I was thinking it might be just a straight translation but I guess not.

It could be a word find but nothing jumps out there either. If it is a caesar shifted wordfind, then I am not going to bother.

So I check out the image address on the very off-chance that I'll get a clue about the scum, and much to my surprise, it's me.

Also, based on the lack of any grammatical structure or cohesion in the last scum post and the weird capitalization of "HaHaHa," I think we can safely rule out as the one who made that particular post anyone who tends to type in complete sentences, use proper capitalization and punctuation, etc. I'm not saying one way's better than the other as far as the internet is concerned, I'm just saying people tend to be consistent. Off the top of my head I'd say you can rule out me and Amb, and going back to analyze some previous posts by other players, I'd say it's also probably not Angel of the Apocalypse (judging largely by posts on mafiascum), cloudRunner (judging by posts in other threads plus the fact that he hasn't confirmed yet), FlyingFoxBat, Livingod, pete d (judging largely by posts in other threads), or Poisonium. The frequent and inconsistent ellipses (two are 4 dots with no spaces, one is three dots, with) is another factor. The three remaining suspects (thedragon'sprincess, Sniklac16, and Dutters), all seem to use ellipses (including ones of various length) at times, but it seems to be a technique employed most often by our good friend Sniklac.

Now back to actually trying to solve the puzzle.

Seriously, I am very angry I wasted time trying to solve that, and some idiot scum posts the answer. MNOWAX is clearly trying to undo the damage by claiming someone else might have the account, but they wouldnt know the answer being town.

It wasnt even a bad challenge. A few hints might not have gone astray.

I have spoken with the mod, and he has convinced me to keep playing. I have asked him to PM the scum individually to make sure something like this doesnt happen again.

It's fun to play mafia, but if the scum are going to out themselves, it is a waste of time - and not very fun at all.

Guess I will go and check the first post then to see what info we gleaned from that insanity.

I was pointing out that due to the construction of the puzzle, at least 1 of the mafiaosos had to be a long-time GL'er.

I could easily have made a similar puzzle, however, I didn't knew all of those ancient GL'ers.

I am not crossing out all mafia newbies, but reduces the possibility of GL newbies being mafia sligthly.

The only really old GLer I see on the list is Araya, and it's not too hard to see his name by searching around "Where Are?" threads. Maybe the mafia is all-newbie (or relatively so) and the scum posted the answer to make us believe one of the mafiosos (mafiosi?) was an old-timer. Thoughts?
