Mafia, Game 2!

current update: I am moving the mafia 2 list here, I will be emailing the mafia/madman/police/doctor shortly.

First, the rules. Bold indicates additions to the previous rules.

There will be 5 categories of people. There will be 5 mafia, chosen completely at random for the list of those signed up. Their objective is to not get caught. There will be 3 police, also chosen at random. There will also be a madman, and a doctor. And of course, the rest of those playing will be townsfolk.
Each round, the mafia will choose someone to kill off. The madman will also choose someone to kill. The police will get to, as a group, ask if one person is mafia, and the doctor will get to choose one person to spare, in the event that that person is chosen for death by the mafia or madman. Once you are dead, you won't have a say in townspeople voting, but if you want to post as a ghost, go ahead, it won't matter since you still won't know who did it. If a doctor tries to heal the madman, he will be cured(however, I will not post who the madman was, as that would make him a prime target for the mafia, only the madman and the doctor will know who he was) After the people are found dead, the townspeople will discuss who they think the mafia(or madman) is, and then after we have two or three clear nominations, the townspeople will vote on who they want to lynch. That person will be dead, and it will be revealed whether or not he/she was mafia, madman, police, doctor, or townsfolk. Then that round is over, and the mafia, madman, police, and doctor will all make their choices again. The mafia wins if they manage to kill everyone else off, the madman wins if he is the last one alive, and the rest win if they kill all the mafia and kill or cure the madman(if the madman is cured, he joins the townsfolk in trying to catch the mafia).

He kneels on the ground and starts a prayer... maybe it will help him get thruogh this round alive.

Just a quick proceduaral question, mith: If the results of a lynching vote is a draw, and no-one seems likely to change their mind, what happens?

i'm not sure about draws, but i have a feeling we won't have any early, and later we can do secret ballot if necessary.

Dont forget, I was the one that had the mafia pointed out right from the start last time before they conspired to get me killed.

IS: We were among the first to discuss openly who might or might not be Mafia in the last game, and it cost us our lives. I want to hear what others have to say first this time around.

Well here's what I say. Kill Quailman now! Get that mafia scum off of our clean streets.
Obviously you could just wait around for him and his mafia buddies to kill one of us first...

Not me again! I was nominated "randomly" to be the first sacrificial lamb the last time around. I just reviewed the discussion there, and noticed that the mafiosi remained silent until I had three votes against me, and then they each voted for someone else! I even ended up surviving until the next round, so watch the voting patterns carefully.

Of course im comfortable discussing it. I am a grade 'A' mafia target. I wouldnt be shocked if I was offed first. And if by a stroke of luck I am not, im sure the townsfolk will lynch me first for being 'dangerous'.
So when life expectancy is low anyways, you tend to throw caution into the wind.

Why did BBB get killed? He hasn't said anything yet, and unfortunately will never get a chance.
Why did James get killed? All he did was say we should get Quailman first. Coincidence? Of course the killer(s) could be trying to lead us off track. I don't want to take any chances.

Not sure how much I agree with hey-herb. I think its a setup, but he could be right. Of course, IS could be mafia too, and he might be a danger. *sigh* Oh well. I'll vote l8r.

Sorry about the double-post. What do the police do? Have they already asked their question? Do we get to see the answer?
Anyway, I think the mafia will lay low for a while so I am not going to vote just yet. I suggest the rest or you become a little less lynch-happy yourselves. Remember the more townsfolk we lynch, the more "oomph" the mafias vote has, and thats bad.

the police have asked their question for the round, and have recieved their answer, but they might not reveal what they know if they find out someone is mafia, as that would expose them to the wrath of the mafia... and they might not be trusted. what they do with the information they get is up to them.

I knew it, the mafia would attempt to have the town lynch me again right off the start for their sick twisted sense of humor. I can just see it now:

Mafia1: Hey Mafia3, lets not kill Internet Stranger directly.

Mafia3: I agree, we can always get the morons among the village to lynch him for us anyways.

Mafia2: Yea, lets do it quickly though, he can finger us out easy.

So I will not be led down the path of malcontent again. To take me out mafia scum, you will have to MURDER me. Thats right, the townsfolk have enough common sense to not lynch me twice.

They learned their lesson last time as I had the mafia figured out from the beginning. And we all know the mafia would want me out of the way. so...
