Absolutely. Those yet to be written pages are/were/will be full of claims, counterclaims, and counter-counterclaims. Ultimately, it all ends/ended/will end in me getting killed so my only chance is/was/will be to change this reality, so that a) I'm actually playing, and b) I survive!
