I was recently responding to a post. When I hit the submit response button, I was told that the user name didn't exist. It turns out that I had misstyped my password. However, on hitting the back button I realized that the whole message that I had written was now gone. Disgruntled, I had to re-type my message (with much less flare and eloquence as the first time around). Is there any way to prevent this from happening other than right clicking on text to copy. My fingers spaz out sometimes when typing, and for some reason I can never remember that usernames are case sensitive.

Actually, when I hit the "Back" button, the text is still there. The reason for which this happens is, i think, that your browser hadn't saved the previous page. Think about adjusting the "History" options.

bump.

Yes this is possible.

Instead of sending you to a page that says "you typed your password wrong click back to try again" it could be the same page with your message nicely ready to be posted--so you wouldn't have to click the back button.

This feature would be pretty easy to implement, but would require some coding.

on a side note...

Would anyone object to a feature that would ask you if you're sure you want to "Clear Fields"? I mean come on, how often does anyone ever use this "feature". Can we just get rid of it altogether?
