Now that's a shame they had to meet each other on the way.
Both had excellent comedy, brilliantly written, and great characterisation.
It has to be M*A*S*H though. Setting in the Korean war means it had an easier environment to add drama and twists within context than the various social nuances of the Cheers bar. Therefore M*A*S*H was the richer.

I'm inclined to agree with Ford here. Plus I think that here in the UK we had the incredible advantage of seeing the show originally broadcast without a laugh track, which somehow helped it to transcend its genre and making the dramatic situations much stronger.

Lol. Well if I were to base this on ratings, MASH had the most watch episode in American history I believe. But based on what I prefer, Cheers all the way.
