Both deserved to win, I was hard pressed that simpsons win, but I think that the tournament had some nice match ups.

Not suprisingly there was a clear bias to American shows in the tournament. MASH is a good show to me, but not that great. Probably around 10th place in US comedies, around 20th place in US TV shows, around 100th place overall. Of course, that is because I tend to prefer UK TV shows over US ones. Simpsons scores similarly.

What I found interesting was the lack of nominations for HBO series. The Wire, The Sopranos and Entourage are all far better than many of the shows that placed high in this tournament, IMO, yet I don't recall them even being voted on.
