You know this is sad that the 1st home of mafia is unable to get a single game going. I actually like the labyrinths simpler format but I may have to brave the forums of mafiascum if we cant get a single game going. Is there a reason the labyrinth is dying?

i actually got blackballed in newbie games, because i Self voted" after the crash the game was lagging a bit and i had been at l-1 for a bit so i hammered myself to get the game moving.

I just don't get the concept.
It seems somehow random, who lives, who dies.
Tell me what's so great about it.

I really can't explain the fun of mafia. Maybe its the joy I get at imagining my foes dying horribly complicated spasm-inducing deaths. Ahhhhh, the good ole days.

But seriously there is some randomness in the beginning but by day 2 or 3 It becomes very strategic on who to off. Plus the amount of times Ive fallen off my chair laughing at some of the crap that happens is too numerous to count.

The best part of mafia is towards the end, when you're using logic and information that you know is true, but others don't, and trying to convince them who is mafia, or similar situations if mafia yourself.

One of my favorite moments was figuring out, as mafia, how to phrase a statement that in casual conversation would mean "I am not mafia" when someone could tell if the statement was a lie.

The best part of mafia is towards the end. By then, several things have happened.
- Courk is out of the game, having been killed night 1 and revealed to be the doc.
- Wall-E got semi-, nah, quarter-random-lynched day 1 (innocent).
- SaberKitty was fingered by a cop day 1 for being the serial killer. But Wall-E's lynch still took precedence.
- Scums tried to keep cop Mackay alive until the endgame, but the town decided to lynch her just to foil their plan.
- MsLovett is alive and scum; everyone knows it but no one talks about it because it's good to have a girl around, especially since the other girls are gone.
- DP and Leo are lynching each other in a corner; perhaps they're both scum, or town, or on opposite sides. It doesn't matter, they did not read their role PMs, or the thread for that matter.
- Taflinel is winning the game no matter which side he's on.

I was a Jester. I picked the most suspicious player day 1, and slapped the cop. I picked the most suspicious player day 2 and kissed the other cop. I picked the most suspicious player day 3, and hugged the doc. Got lynched day 4. I marched to victory after I was gone, because I was doing a better job than the scum...

Free market did indeed kill the mafia on the greylabyrinth, although MS certainly accelerated the decline.
Its a pity, I'm culpable of dropping of the radar too, but I think a list is needed in the current economic climate to create a series of well participated in games, maybe even build anticipation for the next, etc.
Regarding Mafiascum, its no longer fun, far too much theory and amths involved to be fun, when you get yelled at for making a joke, its clearly got far too competitive.
In the spirit of helping this place revive, I'd be willing to play in a mini, I get a few hours logged online ever night, virtually everyday oft he week.
