Complaint and Request

Complaint:
When I type something into this little box here, it does not come out like I typed it.

I know that some formatting is done. Like turning my text into arial font. I also know that using a [code] tag will set my text off and use <pre> on it. But there are other things that it does for example:

ƒÎ - should look like a greek pi.
„¡„Ÿ„¢
„ �«„ 
„¤„Ÿ„£ - should be a square box with a down arrow in it.

Request:
When they built UBB, they put all this stuff into it. There has got to be documentation on what was done. I do not mind so much that it rejects perfectly acceptible characters as the fact that I can't know what UBB will do next unless I do it. There has to be a way to publish what UBB does to our text when we send it. That way we know what we can and can't do and we don't spend thirty minutes editing our posts and wind up with the "I am not smart enough to do it right the first time" marker at the bottom of our post.

Oh, and yes, everything displayed fine before I sent it. Now even when I go to edit it it is wrong.

I agree about the lack of accurate and comprehensive UBB documentation. Even when you follow what little documentation there is, the results are unpredictable.

The only thing I can suggest is a preview function. It would allow you to see what your post will look like before actually posting it.
