| There were reports of possible sightings of the notes near Blake's computer, but they haven't turned up so far. Sorry. |

Day 5:
Today being our first day in Palmerston North, and Amb still having not returned from his holiday in Hamilton, we spent a little time downtown. We wandered around the shops a bit. I was in need of a haircut, but sadly the barber was closed for no reason that I could discern.
We DID finally find a frisbee. We also went into a comic store to find some decent games, rather than the more typical inventory of several versions of Monopoly. Tally got Ticket to Ride, a game I rather enjoyed about building train networks; Primate picked up a copy of Fluxx, which is sort of a staple; I got a game called Genji which was about using fashionable and timely poetry to win the hearts of princesses. I also scouted out a couple of souvenirs for my parents (who were less than thrilled with my decision not to come home for the holidays), though I generally don't like to buy gifts on impulse so I didn't pick anything up at the time.
For lunch we got some Jester's meat pies and ate them in the rose garden on the esplanade. While there we took the time to ride the miniature rail. The miniature rail of course had two sorts of passengers: children, and people who wanted to be children again.
We spent most of the afternoon at the home of Tally's parents. Bob and Evelyn are tournament-level bridge players, so we played some bridge with the help of fine tutors. Personally, I've played bridge before but it had been a long time and it seems I was rather rusty. Primate and PJ had not played before, but they seemed to pick it up pretty well, considering how much actually goes into the game. Talitha had long ago become disenchanted with the game, so she did a bit of catching up with the family while we played. Thanks Tally! |

Since Groza hasnt updated for a while
Day 6 or so: I got up early in the morning and rung Tally. No answer. I tried again from my cellphone later. No answer. So I got in my car and started to drive the 45 minute journey to Sixtus lodge. 25 minutes into my trip I received a text on my cellphone. It was Tally saying don't go to Sixtus lodge, we arent going there for a few more days. Ouch. Turn around car. Drive to Karens, now 40 mins away.
Once there I met Groza and the others, I convinced them to come play backyard cricket. I think they enjoyed it. Then we all piled round to a park and played a bigger game with more players and far less obstacles such as kids swings, Tally's son mowing the lawn and washing lines. Groza did impress us being able to hit the ball well.
Once it got too hot, we played a small amount of Frisbee and then returned back to Tally's to play games. |
