L.A Noire for $25 and Portal 2 for $12 or so. Still waiting on a deal on Arkham City or a friend to go to the states.

I know the feeling.

I grabbed the DLC for Fallout: New Vegas and Red Dead Redemption. So I am now replaying F:NV.

Just walked all the way to the bank, then to Rite-Aid and back so I could purchase a $25 Amazon gift card and get in on Cyber Monday. I thought $11.99 for Enslaved was a good deal until I found that shipping costs nearly $5. Still getting it since it's impossible to find new and it's still a dollar off the used price, saving me a future trip to Gamestop, but I am left to wonder what to do with $8 Amazon credit, when shipping will kill $3-$5 of it. Maybe a second HDMI cable? It does annoy me a little to keep switching the current one between my PS3 and cable box.

/walloftext

Edit: Good news, I accidently ordered the 360 version. Why good? After I canceled, I found out the PS3 version has free shipping. It's only $12 after all.

With the $13 Amazon credit left over from that previous post, I got Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, back in December. Then I got a $50 gift card and spent about $36 on Christmas gifts. Fast-forward to today, I went to the bank, then Rite-Aid, got two $15 Amazon gift cards, and combined them with the $14.04 I had to get Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Kinda unnecessary wall of text, considering that those games aren't set to arrive until next week. I'll tell you all about them then. Hey, I did get Atelier Rorona last week, I could tell you all about that, except the posting gods are to cut me o

I got skyward sword for christmas, found out too late I didn't have the wii motion plus it requires. Ok, I go to gamestop to get it...and the darn thing won't work. The buttons work, but the icon doesn't appear. I talked to gamestop and then nintendo, and no help. They were supposed to send me something to return it in, but im still waiting.

Bah!

That reminds me, I got Rayman Origins and Catherine for Christmas and they both worked perfectly with no problems whatsoever. Hurray for traditional controls! Traditions never die.

I've been picking up a few discount games. Epic Mickey is on sale at K-Mart for $20, so I grabbed that. Ditto LEGO Pirates. I found Punchout (Wii) for $15. Got Duke Nukem Forever and Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Steam.

Now if I could just pry myself away from WoW long enough to play one. Cannibal

Fallout 3 is pretty good, though when I took the GOAT it assigned me the job of chaplain and made Melee Weapons, Medicine and Bartering my main skills. I hear Small Guns are best for the game, but melee is still a valid option. I hope I can survive people shooting at me while I take half a minute running up to them.

I kinda suck at Hot Pursuit right now, moreso than Split/Second or Burnout Paradise. Maybe I just need more practice.

I did my hardcore run in Fallout: New Vegas as melee.

Of course, I did that mostly to conserve ammo... but still.

I love games that come with their previous versions. The Sonic games do it a lot. Found a pair of games on sale at K-Mart like that. Splatterhouse is $10, comes with the original 3 16-bit games. And Saints Row: The Third comes with Saints Row 2, if you use the on-line pass code before Feb 13th. Saints Row 2 is a great game - if you like games like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. the real over-the-top sandbox style games. GTA4 took all the fun side stuff out that Saints Row runs with in spades. Having a BLAST in Saints Row right now. Extreme Delectation

67% in Arkham City. That's one seriously long game. I got to 100% completion in Asylum over the course of two weekends, this one I've been playing for over a month.

DM, Twisted Metal is supposed to come with a download code for Twisted Metal: Black if you pre-order. I tried the demo and sucked so hard that I won't be getting it though.

I got Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time, BTW. Figured you're a fan.

To clarify the above post, I meant I sucked so hard, not the demo.

I got PSN+ yesterday. Tons of free games for me. Including The Simpsons Arcade Game tonight. Huzzah!

Oh sweet, I am SO downloading that then. Extreme Delectation

I picked up Batman: Arkham City on sale. Almost grabbed Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (which comes with the first game on PS3), but decided against it. As cool as those games may be, they really aren't my style. Besides, I'm finally building up a sizable backlog again.

Though I've almost finished Saints Row: The Third. Just doing challenge cleanup now to get the trophies. And I haven't touched Splatterhouse yet.

I don't quite understand this one. Is AC not on Steam, or do they not allow inter-region gifting anymore?

The latter. I tried to game the system and made it think I'm currently in the US, but it refused to sell me the game because my CC's billing address is from Israel.

It used to be that somebody in the US could buy the game and gift it to you on steam. That was how a lot of Australian gamers got the uncensored version of L4D2. I helped out in that regard a couple times.

My only complaint at this point is that many battles are so easy that they are pointless. I feel like I'm over-leveled, but didn't really do anything that should have gotten me there. I just fought a kajillion Ghouls on Academia (for only 1 CP each) and every battle was over in 6 seconds.

I'm at exactly the same point, and yeah, I'm not sure why the designers thought fighting a shitload of really weak enemies every five steps would be fun. It's just tedious. At least Academia is the worst offender by far.

I know it's a bit rude, but my boyfriend is selling a ton of ps2 stuff as a lot on craigslist cause he's moving from upstate NY to California to live with me Enthusiastic Grin . The big items are the ps2 itself (old fat style), a logitech steering wheel, and a couple dozen games including some racing, some armored core, and also FF8 and FFT for PSOne. The ad is here if you are interested or know someone near the area who would be.

FFXIII-2 update - my PS3 died. This stinks.

I put a disc in, it makes some horrible kerchunk sounds, makes the sound of the disc tray moving, makes some horrible screeching sounds, then stops. The game never loads or appears on my menu screen.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Why don't consoles last anymore?

I blame the cooling fans. Anything that uses a cooling fan is eventually gonna break down. Whereas Gameboys last forever.

I have a launch SNES that still works perfectly. My first production run 360 went 5 years before it succumbed to the horrible RROD, but that was partly my fault. I accidentally left it on all day in a room that hit 90 degrees on a regular basis. Things fail more often when they get more complicated.

You're right about fans though. My computer has gone through 4 heatsink fans in 8 years.
