Deep in the heart of Mossflower Wood lies the old sandstone fortress of Redwall Abbey. A happy place inhabited by friendly woodlanders and loyal mice. However, a shadow has fallen over the abbey. The shadow of Cluny the Scourge. He and his followers have infiltrated the abbey and now the woodlanders are faced with the grim task of discovering who they can trust before the abbeys greatest defenders fall to the cunning of the Scourge. But a greater evil may lurk in the darkness of the night. Good Luck, may the spirit of Martin guide your decisions.

The Rules (Stolen from MNOWAX, who stole them from someone...)


1. Have fun.
2. There are no unusual game mechanics twists - this is a typical day-and-night Mafia game starting in day.
3. If you're dead, you're dead. You are only allowed to make posts not based on the game, other than a go town or go mafia post, but that's it.
4. No PM communication unless your role allows it.
5. Voting must be in bold in the form of Vote: Talzor. Unvoting must also likewise be in bold: Unvote: Amb Unvoting is not mandatory unless you wish to completely remove your vote from anybody.
6. I hope day deadlines won't have to be established, but if they are, they will be one-week deadlines. Every night has a default three-day deadline. That assumes i make it here in that deadline, if it comes in after the deadline, and I'm not here, I'm counting it.
7. The day will end at a deadline or at the number required to lynch, which will be the first whole number higher than half the number of surviving players (4 for 6, 7 for 13, etc.) If the day ends with the number met, the player lynched will be lynched. If the day ends with a deadline, the player with the most votes will be lynched, no exceptions. In the event of a tie, there will be no lynch.
8. "No lynch" is permitted in this game.
9. During nights, if you don't have a choice, I request that you send a confirm - just to let me know you're still here.
10. In any disputes not settled here, I have the final say.
11. No editing posts. No editing Posts! NO EDITING POSTS!!!

13. Breaking any of these rules may result in being killed by the moderator at my discretion.

OK. Newb question #1. Do we get to know if there are special roles active? I did read about cop, doctor, serial killer, and all that, but how do we know if those are even being used in this game. I get the impression from mafiascum's wiki that 9 players is a pretty small game, so is it likely that the roles aren't being used at all?

Yes, but personal grudges have the drawback of making the invoker look incredibly stupid later on. At least a random vote can be unvoted without too much suspicion.

In my extremely scientific study (of glancing quickly through two old games), it seems to me that the scum either are completely silent on the first day, or they are the first ones to try to point the finger at someone else.

Is there something wrong with asking if someone is scum? If they don't answer, it's telling, and if they do, it's telling HOW they answer. Round one, we just need data, and as much of it as possible. So stop moaning and get people to spill their guts.

And, if some day I actually get a scum role, I'm going to be as quiet as a church mouse.
