@ Loki: remember the last time you attacked me for not voting? Didn't end well for either of us.
I'm curious though at MNOWAX. He's been jumping around kindof sneakily voting creativemind, and then me. He seems really eager to get on any bandwagon at the moment... |

Come on, two more votes for Sab, and we can put this broken legged racehorse of a day out of its misery. Zag, Courk, EC, a little help, please. |

So, that's 1 vote for Sab just to be enemies
2 since he hasn't voted yet
1 for no reason
1 for lack of options
MNOWAX and Escaped convict are especially suspicious here. Wall-E's vote is essentially random. The next two had at least flimsy reasoning. Those last two just seem scummy.

Courk protecting Sab for no reason may be a good sign they are in cahoots. |

I'm tempted to put in the sixth vote, just to make something happen, but I don't want to get accused (again) of piling on in a scummish manner. On the other hand, if he really is mafia, then I'll be a hero. But my strongest feeling for who is scum, in spite of the fact that he stood up for me, is Loki -- he seems the most insistent on lynching somebody, but he has suspiciously ignored Wall-E. (Sorry, man. I'm just being honest.)
Aaargh! I don't know. I'm going to sit on it another day. If nothing changes, I'll probably put in the sixth vote tomorrow or Tuesday, just to make something happen.
(In the meantime, we could really use one more character for the "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" role-playing game. Loki is already in, with a really cool character. If anyone is intrigued but has never played a role-playing game before, this is the perfect opportunity -- I'm glad to have people who haven't played before.) |

As the room filled with the sound of panicked voices and wild accusations, the council of elders have narrowed down the list of suspects and given code names to all. As accusations fly around the table and the nervous woodlanders watch it was Raekuul who proceeded to garner suspicion first with his overdramatic speech on how he felt the best plan would be to leave. I slapped him silly and reminded him that her name was Courk, and that she was in fact not an idiot. With that settled, the disscussion began again. Wall-E meanwhile seemed to have slipped off before the party had ended leaving Lamont_Cranston to explain his friends absence. However it was the curious behavior of sAbLLimINal that garnered the most attention. Instead of mindless accusations and arguments he preferred to watch and listen. When pointed out that Sab was using his head not his mouth, the others became angry. "You think your so smart!" shouted Loki. "Yeah!" said Snicklac16, "We are going to lynch that cunning brain right out of your head." So Loki and Snicklac in the lead most of the group grabbed a hacksaw and forcibly removed Sniclac's brain, and mounted on a placque that read, "brain of guy who thought he was smarter than the rest of us". I was unaware how violent the supposedly peaceful order was. "oh well," I thought, "at least we got rid of a rat." Or did we. When we went through Sab's clothes we found an i.d. labelling him as Matthias, a Novice of the order who had been doing as he was told. Not speaking until Spoken to. (Ahh the Irony) well it was late and I suggested we all go to sleep before we did anything else rash. Just as we were about to go to sleep Lamont_Cranston stood up and said "I want to say something..." before someone knocked him out with a hammer and shouted, "Go To Sleep". ahh silence at last.

As dawn breaks and the woodlanders wake to a gruesome sight in the cavern hole. The tatered remain of Poisonium were dangiling from the rafters. after a quick headcount it was determined only poor poisonium was no longer among them. Before giving Poison a proper burial, the infermary nurse determined Poisonium was actually "The Solitary Beaver", a woodland ally.
Poisonium is nightkilled, He was a town oriented mason

Adding the last vote on someone who was collecting votes for absolutely no reason. I can understand setting a time limit for someone if you're waiting for a defense and they're not providing it, but what was Sab supposed to do? The reasons were non-existent, there's nothing he could have said to that. |

Say what you want, Courk. You know I was just trying to make something happen. If we don't finally decide to pile on to someone, the first day is just going to go on forever. If you hadn't accused me of piling on earlier, I would have voted lot sooner and you'd be accusing Escaped Convict for casting the final vote. |

Now for my in-game observations:
Courk: Experienced player. Tolerates no anti-village behavior (BW-ing etc.). I have a solid village read here.
Snik: Not as experienced as Courk but exercises due caution when placing votes. I say is definitely pro-town.
I would like to withold further analysis as we work together and progress further into the game. _________________ Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? |

Ok, I cast the last vote: put me on the list. You can bet though, with all the talk that was already there about anyone piling on being scum, that I'm enough of a gamer to avoid THAT mistake.
So, what real evidence do we actually have?
The only certain thing is that Poisonium was killed by scum. Is there anyone who would actually have reason to want him dead? Unfortunately, there isn't much. He had retracted his vote for Sniklac, and it was clearly just a warm-up vote, joking around (way back on post 19).
More recently, he made a threat against creativemind (posts 106 and 107) which wasn't really much, but maybe the fact that he posted it twice touched a nerve. creativemind already seemed a little suspicious, to me, anyway.
Wow! The uncertainty in this game is infuriating! It's a little like poker, when someone makes an oddly large or oddly small bet -- you think: Did he do that because he is bluffing and he doesn't want to risk too much money, or because he has a huge hand and he wants a call? But at poker, either you make the call and you find out right away, or you fold and accept that you will never find out. Either way, you get to move on to the next hand. |

| The difference between this and poker is that occasionally I win at poker. It seems like anyone you can actually mount a sizeable lynch mob against is probably a townie, because the mafia has no qualms about pitching in. It's the people you can barely squeak a vote or two against who are probably scum. We've got no info to go on. Unless we all start role-claiming, we're just firing blind. |

I assume that is just getting everyone to state which side they are on, and what special abilities they have. I don't quite see how that will help -- it's not like the scum are going to tell the truth, eh?

Based on the overwhelming preponderance of evidence (ok, the mild leaning) that I listed above, I'm going to
vote: creativemind
I'm resisting the urge to put in a revenge vote against Courk or Lamont, because I honestly don't think they are scum -- well, at least not Courk, I don't have any feeling one way or the other on Lamont. The evidence against cm is really weak, but it's all I got. |

Well, it's a little more useful, considering this is Redwall and the characters are named. So, if someone claimed to be Constance the badger, who is a doc, someone else says HE'S Constance the badger, and we've got a problem. Moreover, perhaps there's a Cornflower the Mouse, but he's a doc. Maybe there's a problem there... Would we have two docs?
I'm just saying there would be a fiction to penetrate if people claimed. We can spot liars and fakes, but only if there are lies and frauds to examine. Right now, we're jumping at shadows. |

I guess I don't see how mass role-claiming would help the scum, either, since they already know who is townie and who scum. At least, if we only declare our names and not our roles, then it can't be any benefit to them. (I suppose that, if they know the books well enough, they might be able to infer roles from the names. I don't know the books, so I can't tell.)
If we get two people claiming to have the same name, it would at least give us a 50/50 chance of lynching a scum, which is better than the odds we have. Also, I suspect that the mafiosos (sp?) will try to be late but not last in declaring, just as they would for lynching a townie, to minimize their chance of overlapping, but not look too suspicious. So when people declare (assuming we agree to do so) will give some information, too. |

MNO, Did you actually read what I wrote? That's why I said I would go along with people just declaring their names, and not their roles. I don't see how that gives any information to the scum. (I'm assuming you can't infer the roles from the names. I wouldn't know if you could.)
I do notice that you seem to like to jump on a bandwagon as soon as they seem to be starting to form, as if you want to pile on without quite appearing to. You were fourth to vote for Sab, and now third to vote for me. I have to admit that, if I were scum, that's what I'd be doing.
