Chinese anyone?

Is anyone else finding interesting chars in this board? I can't swear they are chinese but they sure arn't English!

Example below:

Just in case it's the latter, I'll get one in quick...A man walks into a pub with a giraffe.
He orders a pint of lager for himself, and a bucket of lager for the giraffe.
“Yer jokin?aint ya?? says the barman, looking puzzled.
“No. Oh go on, serve us? says the man, “my mate doesn’t get out often?
After a bit of negotiation the barman agrees.
The odd couple spend a few hours happily drinking together, pint after pint, bucket after bucket.
Eventually, the barman calls time, and one by one his patrons leave, until just the man and the giraffe remain, both looking a bit the worse for wear.
“I’m sorry guv, but you’ll ‘ave to go now?said the barman.
They started making their way out, but halfway to the door the beast’s legs wobble and give way. The man, on seeing this, hurries his pace towards the door.
“Oy!? the barman shouts, “Ye can’t leave that lyin?there?
To which the man replied”….

I get them too - but I thought that was because we have activated the Chinese option on the PC (for obvious reasons, as my wife is Chinese and prefers to read and write in Chinese characters).
