Just an idea to get more mafia games playing.

Prisoner’s Dilemma Mafia

In its classical form, the prisoner's dilemma ("PD") is presented as follows:

Two suspects are arrested by the police. The police have insufficient evidence for a conviction, and, having separated both prisoners, visit each of them to offer the same deal. If one testifies (defects from the other) for the prosecution against the other and the other remains silent (cooperates with the other), the betrayer goes free and the silent accomplice receives the full 10-year sentence. If both remain silent, both prisoners are sentenced to only six months in jail for a minor charge. If each betrays the other, each receives a five-year sentence. Each prisoner must choose to betray the other or to remain silent. Each one is assured that the other would not know about the betrayal before the end of the investigation. How should the prisoners act?

For PD Mafia, each day consists of players voting who they want to send to prison. During the night, the two players who have the most votes gets sent to prison for interrogation, and will be asked the question: “Is the other player mafia?”

-If both players say no, a small reward is given to both of them.
-If one says yes and the other says no, the one saying yes is given a large reward, and the one saying no will automatically die.
-If both players say yes, they must play RAF to determine their fate.

OMG, I have never survived past a single round in RAF (even the one where we started with three characters each -- all three of mine died), so I'm doomed from the outset.

I'm in, but I'm making it very clear to everyone that my fear of RAF means that I will be saying NO whenever questioned.

This is a cool enough concept to sucker me /in Revenge most foul!

I'm assuming since it's RAF, both could live through being sent to prison if they rat each other out?

And will the town know anything besides who lived and who died of the two prisoners? Or will they be made aware of the ratting?

It was either RAF or rock/paper/scissors, so I figured RAF would be more fun. And, at the start of each day, the town does know if the prisoners chose yes or no.

Not a trend I necessarily support, since I've been mafia in 100% of the mafia games I've been in so far (that is, 1 of 1). But as long as it is Amb we're talking about, then sure. Extreme Delectation
