You know this game is really moving to fast for a guy who can only get on at the library. Anyway I want to point out that we have in effect two games going on right now. We have our regular mafia game which if it was by itself I would agree Amb looks very suspicious. But we also have the game of PD in which the prizes for killing off a suspect are great. I'm not defending Amb but we can NOT rush our decision going into night 2. I also find the lack of kill on Night 1 very suspicious. Do we have a doc, a stupid mafia, or did Lexy use his reward of doc protect last night. Also I would like to hear from MNO on what exactly happened with the game pause/interrogation and why he chose Amb and Lex. Anyway I was at Kings Island all weekend riding the new coaster and my life is going to be getting back to normal I hope over the course of this month, so I should be around more often starting this week. Apologies all around.

MNO, I was confused by "bury," since I thought you meant lexprod's body.

What do you mean by this? Do you have some special power? Were you the reason for the second round of arrests right away?

FOS: Amb. I'd vote for him if we were allowed to. But I'm not sure that no lynch is the right answer, either. Maybe we can get two more volunteers who will agree not to finger each other?

As everyone has been chatting intensely on who to send to prison, the Police Chief suddenly shows up. He begins to say, "It seems as though we have found some evidence. If we don't act soon, evil things might happen to us. Consider this a warning. That is all."

I still think this game is going way to fast, in my expirience a fast game benifits the mafia cause they don't have time to make a mistake.

BTW was that police chief thing a deadline or threat or something else

@UM: the police thing was just a warning to get the game moving along since no one had posted for a couple of days.

From what I see, I think Day 2 is now over. The prisoners for tonight are MNOWAX and Courk.

It is now Night 2. All choices are due around August 20ish. I'm going on vacation starting tomorrow and I'll get back on Thursday, I think. So if I'm not available until thursday, then the deadline should probably last a little bit longer.

Everyone wakes up, and notices that a few people are missing. What could this all mean?

The Police Chief arrives and gives the news of last night, "There's been a break-in last night at the prison. An unidentified suspect broke through various levels of security and managed to kill MNOWAX in one of the interrogation rooms. Courk was released from prison without completing the interrogation process. As soon as we walked out of the prison, we also found raekuul dead. I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to run for my life before we all die."

MNOWAX, FBI Agent, killed Night 2
raekuul, 1-shot vigilante, killed Night 2

Undercover Monk and Zag, the mafia, win!

I had trouble trying to figure a way to make this evenly balanced, (and it's probably not even close) but in the end, I just gave tons of power to each side hoping that it would somehow work out.

- The Mafia:
Zag was a regular mafia, while UM was a godfather, and they had a bunch of abilities:

- Nightkills: Any member not imprisoned may send in the nightkill.

- 1 Prison Escape Kit: If 1 of the group members is in prison, this may be used to avoid the PD interrogation. If used the other player in prison would also be freed. If used, the prison escape event will be announed publicly the next day.

- 1 Prison Break-in Kit: This can be used 1 night to break into the prison and kill one of the prisoners. You may use this kit and a nightkill on the same night. The other prisoner would be freed. If used, the break-in event will be announced publicly the next day.

-MNOWAX: was an FBI agent. At any time during the day, he could send any 2 people to prison, which was that game pause.

-Amb: was a master interrogator. Once, during any time 2 people were in prison, he could use his power to force the prisoners to do what he wants. So if he wanted both prisoners to live or both dead, he could do that.

-raekuul: was a 1-shot vig. One time during the night, he could shoot one person and hope that they die.

-lexprod and Courk: were townies, however they had an optional bulletproof vest. During the night they had the option to use their vest or to keep it later on in the game. If they used it and they were shot, then they wouldn't die. Also, the vest didn't work if they were in prison.

Some strategies I had thought:
For town:
An optimal strategy would be MNOWAX using his ability to capture the 2 scum and have Amb use his ability to kill them both. If that didn't work, then there was always the vig to use his power as a backup. Also, with the townies having some sort of protection, I thought that it would help balance with the nightkills. Unfortunatly, MNOWAX used his ability on Amb and lexprod, in which Amb used his ability to kill lexprod, figuring that he was scum.

For mafia:
I figured that their best strategy would be to confuse the town early by using their break in kit, and keep their escape kit in the end just in case. Instead, Zag decided to volunteer to go into prison, telling the others to say no if they were in prison so that they could use the cop ability, while he would use the doc ability to save his partner. This was a big risk, due to Amb's ability. If Amb had decided to use his ability to kill Zag and the vig shooting UM, the town would have won the next day.

Overall, I agree that the game went way to fast, which probably helped the mafia. Hopefully this was a somewhat fun game for you guys, and I'd be happy to hear any comments about this game. Thanks for playing.

Courk wrote:
Zag I'm not suspicious of (much different vibes compared to his last game), ...

Thanks, Courk. That was exactly what I was going for. Extreme Delectation You overlooked how much role-playing I do.

UM was also concerned about the whole volunteering to go up thing, but I was pretty sure that the first night would be safe. I don't quite understand MNOWAX's strategy, calling people up before he had any clue, but it certainly made my life easier. My big concern was that we would come back from the first night, the night kill would fail, and I would have to correctly identify someone as town. (We discarded the idea of falsely accusing someone. Considering the kits we had, we figured others had some pretty powerful ones.)

Thanks for the game, sab. I'm afraid that I do have to agree that it was unbalanced in mafia's favor. After all, we had reliable ways to kill townies, but they had no reliable ways to kill us, even if they had known from the very beginning who we were. And with only 7 players, we only had to kill three of them to win.

day 1 "lynch" numbers were reached on post 27

18 posts for day 1? Maybe the mafia were too powerful, but there was no way the town could win rushing through days like that.

I have to say that at least in this game the effect of "days" is a little different as there may be no lynch. Obviously, I'm not the best person to take advice from, dying almost immediately. I actually took the protection the second imprisonment, and then plan on lying saying I had two cop investigations, hoping to draw the wrath of scum, and then use my doc protection to have them waste a turn.

But then Amb killed me Razz

See I told you guys that a fast game helped the mafia. Of course the fact that I wanted a fast game meant I didn't push too hard but I thought it was a good cover especially with my GF ability. with the combonation of my usage problems and my intentional lurking I don't think anyone suspected me. And Zag was great at "leading" you townies. He was the real brains behind the mafia I was just along with the ride

To Sab: this would have been a great setup for a large scale game but didn't seem to be very good with small numbers. However it was still enjoyable and I still firmly believe that if the town had slowed down especially on day 2 they had a decent shot at winning.

Anyway great game for all! Now we just have to decide if we are up for Courks crazy game.
