I'll allow new submissions along with changes to anything already submitted through the final day of August, when the transfer window closes. At that point, a few games will have been played, so we'll see what kind of start we're off to, and if any major player transfers have been completed.
Perhaps I'll also give you the opportunity to swap any two teams/positions after the winter transfer window to make it more interesting. We'll see. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

Villa to go down...wow! That's a bold prediction.
Not as bold as MatthewV's Manchester City to go down, but bold nonetheless. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

I was all excited for the start of Spurs campaign, now their first game is postponed due to the London riots.
At this point, the remaining 9 games are still scheduled to go ahead this weekend. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

Most teams have played 2 games so far and Wolves are in 3rd place with full points, and only ManU and Man City above them. Expect that to change.
I have a feeling there's still plenty of player movement left in the transfer window - Will Modric go to Chelsea, and if so, what do Spurs do with that money? Will Nasri really move to Man City, and will Arsenal buy anyone?
At this point, Arsenal looks pretty weak, so I may be moving them down. Current team standings
Name - Played - Pts
Manchester City - 2 - 6
Man Utd - 2 - 6
Wolves - 2 - 6
Aston Villa - 2 - 4
Liverpool - 2 - 4
Chelsea - 2 - 4
Newcastle - 2 - 4
Bolton - 2 - 3
QPR - 2 - 3
Norwich City - 2 - 2
Stoke City - 2 - 2
Wigan Athletic - 2 - 2
Sunderland - 2 - 1
Arsenal - 2 - 1
Fulham - 2 - 1
Swansea City - 2 - 1
Everton - 1 - 0
WBA - 2 - 0
Blackburn - 2 - 0
Tottenham - 1 - 0 _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

That looks like something of an understatement...
(You have to feel a bit for City though. They produced a magnificent display earlier that would normally have got all the coverage and then that happens!) _________________

Yep, yesterday was crazy. Man City 5 - Tottenham 1, followed by Man U 8 - Arsenal 2.
16 goals in 2 games, with two of the top six teams in the league getting demolished by what look like the best two teams by far. Not a good day for either side of North London.
I wonder if yesterday's result will finally convince Arsenal they need to buy players?
I'll make the official deadline for any revisions Friday, September 9th. This will be after the transfer window closes, but before any further games are played. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

I'm going to change my top scorer prediction from Aguero to Dzeko, given how City have been lining up.
There's a rumor going around that Arsenal's troubles stem from a conflict between Wenger and the board: the former wants to sign one or more big (30M) players and up the wage scale to attract and retain stars, while the board prefers to increase the wage scale only moderately and placate the fans with some mid-range purchases. Arsene is opposed to buying anyone who isn't an improvement. Apparently they lost out on Juan Mata and possibly others simply because Arsene wasn't allowed to match Chelsea's wages.
I'm going to have to make some changes to my lineup. For the record, I'm counting on Harry Redknapp to make a decent last-minute purchase, and on Arsenal to fail to make any huge buys.
1) Manchester United
2) Manchester City
3) Chelsea
4) Liverpool
5) Tottenham
6) Arsenal
7) Sunderland
8) Stoke
9) Wolves
10) QPR
11) Everton
12) Blackburn
13) Bolton
14) Newcastle
15) Aston Villa
16) Wigan
17) Fulham
18) WBA
19) Swansea
20) Norwich |

Big moves today:
Parker to Spurs
Crouch, Palacios, Cameron Jerome to Stoke
Jenas and Hutton to Villa
Meireles and Bellamy to Liverpool
Benayoun, Arteta, Santos and Mertesacker to Arsenal
Bendtner to Sunderland
Hargreaves to ManCity
Shawn Wright-Phillips to QPR
Kukuta and Ngog to Bolton
Bryan Ruiz to Fulham
Scott Dann and Yakubu to Blackburn
And more...you'll have until September 9th to revise your picks. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

And I forgot that I needed to do it last Friday.
Will you still let me swap Arsenal and Manchester City in my list? That's the only change I really want to make. But I'll accept it if you don't.
A traditionally surreal first month table this year. And, even though its through gritted teeth, United clearly deserve their results so far. That defeat by Barca really seems to have given Fergie a wake-up call. _________________

I don't think I should allow it...I actually forgot as well. I was intending to knock Arsenal down a spot or two, drop Blackburn into the relegation spots, and bring Wolves up a bit. Then I began enjoying my vacation in Chicago and forgot all about this thread until I started watching the Saturday games.
It looks like I'm in the lead so far with -26. Lots penalty points for all of us. MatthewV is -86. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

Courk -22
Lepton -32
DP -40
Scurra -42
MatthewV -86
We're all currently losing points on Newcastle, Norwich, Swansea, Everton, Wolves, Arsenal, Blackburn and Bolton. 40% of the league and not one of us have any of them within 2 spots of their current position.
Currently, I have 6 of the top 7 exactly right. I'm sure that will change. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

Holy crap. That was... extraordinary. The really strange part was that United weren't even playing especially badly (not especially well, true, but not badly.)
Mind you, given the QPR - Chelsea result, it's possible that I have slipped into some weird alternate universe that doesn't make sense... _________________

Wow. Chelsea's fall (and Liverpool's failure to improve) seems to have caught most of us out badly. Looking forward to seeing the final results of this, although I'm pretty confident I'm going to be relegated this year. I should stuck to boring trivia stuff, clearly. _________________

What a final day!!! Honestly one of the best sports days I can ever remember, and all before noon!
I hate Martin Fulop right now, and if Chelsea win the CL, I'll hate him even more.
I'll have the results in a bit...we all might be in the negative. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

3 - Chelsea, Fulham, Sunderland, QPR
1 - Wigan
-5 - 11 others

Whoah. That wasn't quite what I expected at all.
Still, we should all be nicely positioned to be hired as pundits for next season, given our exemplary track records here.
Well done DP. _________________
