I'm currently in England, so I'll post results as soon as I get back (within a week, if enough people have jumped in). All of my travelling on The Tube has made me want to run this game again.

I can't remember who ran the game last time, but we all saw how it petered out after disinterest throttled the players. We're playing the single-submission version this time. Each player still needs to post that they've joined the game and send the normal PM for your entry. I would suggest you pick a team beforehand, which you can optionally post in the forum.

I will accept submissions up until I close them, which I suppose will be in a week. I encourage collaboration, both in private and in the forum. I'm going to play too, but I've already set aside my entry; I promise I won't cheat...much!

Good luck!

Right, I've submitted "Elephant and Castle" and I'm not changing it, so any of you who were thinking of submitting "Mornington Crescent" are now out of luck.

Not if I submit Parsons Green, surely? (Which, obviously, I wouldn't, for exactly that reason.)

edit: oh, wait. That doesn't work, does it? Doh.

Submitted. And I'm formatting my entry post so as to limit the information it gives about my move. ralphmerridew may be able to get away with that, after such a powerful opening, but the rest of us will have to rely on unpredictability.

Well, I'm not as sneaky as mith.

Duke Gnome, I see your Elephant and Castle, and I'll raise you a Blue Line if we can partner up (ideally against Amb, if he starts to play).

I'd ruin the joke, but then that'd ruin the joke.

I prefer to watch games of Mornington Crescent than play them.

My friends mostly prefer the single submission format, but that's mostly because me and one other person always try to draw the game out interminably. We once stretched out what was supposed to be a "quick game" out for over two weeks (spread over several sessions).

I'll tell you what: other players can PM me with plays they'd like me to make. I'll send the one that provides me with the most amusement to Cordelia.

Okay, I'm not going to state the obvious, but I'm going to close entries if there isn't any more interest. I mean, it has been a week, but I'm lenient with single-submission. That said, there's plenty here.

Of course, there's only one problem, plenty of people have posted their interest in playing, but I only actually received entries from two people. Obviously, per the rules, I can't state who entered, but if anyone wants to send in an entry, I'm still missing the team-statement from at least one person.

And, Zag, no one has put the rules up for this yet on the site, but I'm sure that it will one day get included with the chess-moves. Obviously, feel free to format your submission like mith claims to have, but it's not necessary. Oh, and DPW, you'll need to clarify, but I think you might be playing with Aussie rules. That's fine, but let me know if that's what you meant to do.

If I don't get any more submissions, I'm closing entries Friday or Saturday, though I could close them sooner, you know, if anyone pulls a Hyde Park team switch (which would be annoying).

Oh, and my trip to England was fantabulous, thanks.

It was a close game, as is plain to see. You can tell from the team-ups that it looked like it could easily have fallen in favor of my team, what with all of the intent to cooperate.

Teams:
Green Park by way of Jubilee - Cordelia, Duke Gnome, and Dread Pirate Wesley
Sloan[e] Square with a misspell - ralphmerridew and Zag
Buckingham Fancy Pants - mith
Where the Hackbridge am I at? - Scurra and Courk
Paddington, but really St. Pancras - raekuul
Rock the Barbican - Antrax and Dread Pirate Wesley

I was surprised that there were so many solo-teams this time, but I guess that's to be expected in a single-submission.

Duke Gnome got really close with Elephant & Castle, but should have realized what a reversal taking a bus route would cause him, especially with the planned construction across Picadilly Circus. It was an interesting play with a huge gamble...which ultimately failed. Too bad he was on my team :/ And with DPW on two teams, I was really dealt a losing hand. Maybe I should have gone back and changed my entry, ha!

Now Zag was really slick teaming up with ralphmerridew like that. It completely slid under the radar, proving how great he is at the game. I was so impressed, I had Belle & Sebastian dedicate a song in his honor.

mith played with flawless skill, and almost managed to steal the game by trading his Packet of Crisps for a Sonic Screwdriver, but obviously he was fooled by not realizing that Antrax was playing. Had the two teamed up, it would have been a surefire win for mith. Great use of sending that purple to Duke Gnome...again, if Antrax hadn't been there...

Congrats to the winners, Scurra and Courk! After having to deal with Amb every other time she's played, I'm sure was happy to win for once. I guess if Amb had played, it would have been a different game, but still an excellent play on her part. I know this was Scurra's, what, second time playing? Slightly sloppy execution, but I know he'll get better with each game, especially teaming up with a star player like Courk.

Again, congrats to the winners, and thanks everyone for playing, especially to Lepton and lexprod for judging. I sure didn't want to have to do all of the work, so it was a great help :D

Yeah, I actually specifically hid myself from the user list so mith won't notice I'm reading VG in the "Who's Online" link. Bwahaha.

Thanks, Antrax...I think you were the only one who cared about the results :/

Which is particularly amusing, all things considered.

~shrugs~ I thought everybody were keeping quiet to as to not breach the participation maximum and invalidate some silent plays, but it doesn't really make any sense after the game is over.
