My first running of the game so apologies in advance for any errors on my part...
One limitation I think I will use...NO reference to American sports/sports persons.
The letter is S which should allow a multitude of names. |

Zag: Are you married to the governor of California? Mrs Schwarzenegger??

Slytherin, of course. Though Tom Riddle was Slytherin's "true descendant" but I don't think he was necessarily his last one. |

Zag: There was some speculation in the 6th book about Slytherin's descendants interbreeding to the point of extinction. Given the ancestral fascination and strong sense of magical history in Harry Potter's universe, I'd be surprised if there were anyone else who received Slytherin's genes beyond the Gaunts. I think.

I'm not equipped to deal with the arguments about fictional characters, so I'm happy to allow Slytherin...

I don't know whether Sisyphus is associated with ambition, but my intended answer (coincidentally) was Salazar Slytherin (Ambition, cunning, leadership and resourcefulness).

The demiexanimated cat (eh??) must be referring to Schroedinger's cat. (Overhead in a physics lab: Schroedinger, your cat looks half-dead.)
General: Are you best known for your contributions in the entertainment field?
Stumper: Did you play the character that the title character of this famous movie calls out for near the end, when he is almost completely (or perhaps completely) blinded?
(How's THAT for a confusingly-worded question? I'll break it down:
A famous movie.
Near the end of the movie, the title character is blinded, or nearly so.
While in this state, he calls out for another character.
Who played that other character?

Milkshake's may have been intended to be Stravinsky (The Rite of Spring)? but Shostakovitch sounds like a perfectly good answer - I'd be surprised if he hadn't written music specifically for a ballet.
Stumper: Did you once cross your legs on screen to great effect?
Boring General: Are you male?

Zag...I shall refrain from comment.
Zag: Did you play the character that the title character of this famous movie calls out for near the end, when he is almost completely (or perhaps completely) blinded? I don't know.
Seems I have to withdraw the general from ralphmerridew.
ralphmerridrew: Did you play a recurring role in the Harry Potter films? I'll have to think about this one.
General: Are you best known for your contributions in the entertainment field? YES
Due to unforeseen circumstances (good ones) I shall not be around tomorrow (Wednesday) so I'll have to put a hold on the game until Thursday. Apologies. |

So I'm boring, huh? Would it have been less boring if I had asked "Are you female?"
I googled Shostakovich (yes, I like to learn stuff from the answers in -cellis) and he did operas but not ballets. |
