Sadly, Bill McLaren - the voice of Rubgy - has shrugged off his mortal coil.
Nice tribute here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/8468516.stm

Also today, we have Canadian folk singer Kate McGarrigle
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8468913.stm

and Love Story author Erich Segal
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8469172.stm

(and it's not even lunchtime!)

Chemical Ali was executed. It's a shame he didn't count. Well, I could've made him count, but my entry would've been too late anyway.

http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474978019911 A more in depth version of what my other half was telling you. Sad day indeed. Not a great month for people in the literary biz. We can only hope that now some lucky person will get a look at the works he had hoarded away.

Please feel free to still enter. The only penalty for entering late is that if anyone dies in the first month, you don't get credit for that death.

And there's no catching up to do! Unless someone dies in the next month Cannibal

If nobody else dies, I will win the game this year, the "Quantity Not Quality" Award, the "Inside Track with the Grim Reaper" Award, the "Opening Kickoff" Award, and the "Final Hours" Award. Wouldn't that be exciting!

From Wikipedia's Deaths in 2010 page:

Kwon Hyi-ro, 81, Japanese-born Korean murderer, prostate cancer.

I wonder if he murdered a Korean or was Korean. Hmm...

Just wanted to mark this one, even though most US people won't have heard of him.
Guy Kewney was one of the most important PC journalists in the UK. I read his column in PCW magazine every month for over 25 years, which is something I can say about very few other writers (in fact, I can't think of any!)
