Here's the official bracket spreadsheet for this tournament.
Feel free to have any discussions, debates, or childish slap-fights about the "Most Interesting Fictional Species Tournament" in this thread.
So in just 3 short months we'll crown the [reverb]MOST INTERESTING SPECIES[/reverb]! Have at it!

| Any bets on overall winner? My money's on Dragon. Magic, fire, flight, claws, scales, damsels, caves, treasure... they get everything. |

| Congratulations to the blowouts (Vulcans, Dryads, Ents), the fair margin wins (Wookiees, Boggart, Nessie), and the close calls (Pokemon, Nibblonians). The yellow opening round is now up and ready for your judgement! |

Congrats to the Borg, Zerg, Faeries, Pixies, Yeti, Leprechauns, Succubi, and Nagas for their wins! We'll have some interesting match-ups next round for sure.
Red opening round is up, and we may get through the entire opening round without requiring a run-off!
I haven't really openly stated my protocol for ties, but in the opening round, ties will be settled in a separate run-off. If the run-off fails to eliminate anyone (tied) then the species of higher seed will advance.
In future rounds, a tie will be broken by whichever had the highest percentage of votes in the previous round, going back multiple rounds until the tie is broken. If still tied, seed breaks the tie. |

Dragons, Dwarves, Lamia, Jabberwock, Gorgons, Goblins, Timelords, and Vampires oh my! Congratulations to these species who made it into the next round, most without heavy contest!
Now is when the difficulty starts! It's the second round and these fictional creatures are going head-to-head to vie for your votes! I expect there to be some close polls this round, so be sure to support your favorites. Let nerdy March Madness begin! |

The Unicorn and Sphinx trample their competition, while Mermaids and Phoenixes just barely edge out their opponents.
Time for the Blue division to take their turn! Vote to keep your faves in and your enemies out! |

Hmm, the Green side seems like it has the best contests. The Yellow side, imo, will go much more heavily for one choice. _________________ Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like? |

| I was going to post a rant about how Tolkein's Elfs are the best, but that I probably wouldn't vote for "elves" generically... but I can't find Elfs/Elves anywhere! Did we forget them? |

Shut yer pieholes, it's a day late in the making. The polls will run for 7 days this round, but the next week will start on time so there'll be a day of overlap. CAN YOU HANDLE IT?
EDIT: I want more images for the sweet sixteen and I have a short attention span when it comes to googling images. Anyone who wants to send me images of their fav species to put up in the next vote thread is more than welcome to. Or just go ahead and post one in it's thread too. Whichever |

Just a reminder: This week's voting should go through monday if you still haven't voted, but the 2nd round for Red will start at roughly midnight tonight to get back on schedule!
Before you know it we'll be into the Sweet Sixteen! |

The Zerg, Pixies, and Nagas fell easily to their opponents while the Leprechauns struggled only to slip in the polls in the 13th hour.
Congratulations to the Borg, Fairies, Yeti, and Succubi for their wins, and slots in the top 16!
Now we've got the 2nd round for the Red division underway, so vote vote vote! And remember next round I'd like a bit of help finding pictures of the species, so let me know or just post them away. |

If you thought finding a decently clothed catgirl was hard...
These are still in contention, but the first three are well ahead.
Since Jabberwock/Lamia is so close, I just put one of each.

| Congrats to Gorgons, Vampires, Dragons, and especially Jabberwocks, which only made it through by ONE vote! Things are heating up, and it's only gonna get hotter as we enter the sweet 16! The feathers, horns, hooves, and antennae are sure to fly as we start down the road to the finals. |

Pretty much. Finding succubi with cloth bits on wasn't hard, but most of it was far more salacious than the one I settled on. I mean, it's kind of the whole point of a succubus to be scantily clad if at that, so finding something work "safe" is going to be difficult. _________________ Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like? |

| With Vulcans and Fairies out of the competition, we now know for certain that our winner will be an animalistic winged creature, but will it be the feathered symbol of rebirth, or the scaled classic medieval antagonist? VOTE FOR THE FINALS! |
