Strategic Bingo 2010 Tournament of Challengers!

The Rules of Strategic Bingo:

Goal:
**Each player is given a randomly generated bingo card, via random.org, that has 5 random numbers from 1-10 under B, from 11-20 under I, 4 from 21-30 under N with a free space in the center, 5 from 31-40 under G, and 5 from 41-50 under O. (Unlike actual bingo which goes to 75 in the US).
**There is also a "Call Card" that serves as game board and keeps track of all numbers called throughout each round.
**The player's goal is to get a standard bingo, which is any five-in-a-row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally through the middle.

The Turns:
**As mod, I start each round by randomly selecting a starting number to place a marker on from 1-50. Unlike last time, the number will NOT be marked on scoreboards, only serving as a start point. It may be marked on a later turn.
**The players take turns one at a time, moving the marker a "knights move" in any direction on the caller card, onto an unmarked number, marking it on any of the players boards that have it.
**No you may not "wrap around" the board, so if you're in column O you can't end up in column B or I.
**If on a player's turn there are no legal moves, that player may then move the marker to ANY free number, marking it.
**Players will not be allowed to "take back" a move, nor edit any posts that include a move. This created too much of a problem last time around, so just check before you post.
**If an illegal move is made (number already called, doesn't exist, or is not a knight's move away), then the player is allowed a chance to correct their move.
**If 3 business days pass without a legal move from the player, and they made no indication they were going to be away from the game for that period of time, I will make a random movie using the forum's die roll to choose from the legal options.

The Bingos:
**The first player to get a Bingo scores one point.
**Bingos are achieved regardless of if a player calls it or not. In other words, hoping your opponent does not notice a five in a row is not an option.
**If multiple players achieve a bingo on the same call, then all players will get half a point, regardless of if it's 2 or more players.
**After a bingo has been made, if the round has not ended yet, a new round will begin with new cards, a blank calling card, and a new random starting point. The player whose turn would have been next will start the new round.

The Tournament:
**Depending on which level of the tournament it is, first to 2 or 3 points wins the game. If multiple players achieve this due to simultaneous bingos, play will continue with a new round between tied players until the tie is broken.
**Open collusion is allowed, that is any "teaming up" or what have you, must be discussed in-thread, not via PMs, AIM, smoke signal, or playing footsie.

I think that is the end of the hopefully water-tight rules. I am now officially taking players, starting with sab since he was nice enough to join in just at the thought of the game Revenge most foul! I will take any amount from 3-upwards, with a goal of at least 6, and will structure for two tournament rounds max, emphasis on 3 player setups. 12 players is gonna be my max, but I doubt that'll be an issue.

1. Sab
2. mathgrant
3. Zag
4. Sentran

Semifinals!
First to 2

Zag (2) vs. sAbLLimINal (0)
mathgrant (2) vs. Sentran (0)

Finals!
First to 3

mathgrant (0) vs. Zag (1)

Actually, American bingo cards go from 1 to 75 (15 numbers per letter).

Setting up the matches now, will put one in this thread, another in it's own to stave off cross-match confusion. Also, the cards are randomly generated, new ones each point, so if you get a "bad card" (however you define it) just deal Cannibal.

Zag, you randomly got picked for the first move. Remember: knights moves, any 5-in-a-row wins, you can win on your opponents turn, and this first number highlighted is NOT marked on your cards, it's simply the starting number for movement's sake

And all moves are final, no refunds, don't edit move posts. So make your moves obvious.

I'm pretty sure I win. I don't attribute it to any skill though, your card really sucked, with your corners being 10 and 50, and I control the crucial 15, 17, 19 squares. Anyway:

I considered this option, but nixed it in favor of shorter games, so that people aren't agonizing over the perfect board. Plus it adds a random element other than mere turn order. Since the first attempt at this game went incredibly longer than I had thought, and most people would not like to be locked in a bingo game for over half a year, I erred on the simpler side. Maybe next time a "draft" of cards each round, or making your own card, or choosing either card or first move, etc.

I appreciate the feedback though n_n

I think this is over. If I go N21 you have to go to O42 and if I go N23 you go to I15 for the win. And if I go to G34, you still win.
