Yeah, I didn't understand this statement either, because at the time this was only one vote on UM (I had withdrew mine), unless you voted for Monk because he didn't see that we had a bandwagon already, which at the time would only be the one on me. |

That's what I thought was going on. I didn't really think UM would be dumb enough to put an emoticon in a message while simultaneously chastising use of them. Which means I guess I cast a hand of suspicion on those who thought it was worth much note: Zag, raekuul, Poisonium, MNOWAX. Zag gets the most heat for seeming to believe it the most, and for voting in an OMGUS way. MNOWAX also gets heat but mostly for his extremism, but he's at least acknowledged it.

How else does one vote on the first day? As the only known townie (that is, known to me), when someone votes for me, that at least increases the probability that he isn't a townie. It's hardly conclusive, but what else do I have?
My first vote was just a joke, as was the vote it was a response to, I assume. After that, I thought UM's comments were a little forced, and seemed scummy to me. I brought it up, and a couple of people agreed, so I decided to act on it. The fact that he voted for me in the interim was just bonus support. |
